Technically speaking, McNutt is actually the 4th WR. I know Tyms and Bumphis have made more catches (vs 2nd and 3rd stringers) in the games but I'm paying attention to who goes into the game and when. Going by that McNutt is the 4th or 5th WR in the eyes of the coaches.
Really, that was my point. Sims is no stiff. In fact, he moves exceptionally well for a guy his size.
For a different take on this, which Te/Slot Wr is likely to score the most Td's? Sims interests me, I think he is being pigeon holed as a blocker, he reminds me of the old Falcons Te, Sanitago (?)
After giving this a couple days to sink in, I guess we just have to hope that Sims, Egnew and Clay can take their game up a notch and collectively fill Keller's shoes... I also think Gibson should now see more reps.
We could always give Ernest Wilford a call. I don't remember who he went to after Miami released him, Patriots maybe? But whoever it was, tried to make him a tight end.
jesus thank you for reminding me of that ernest wilford experiment, i totally forgot about that one....
Sure, and while they're at it, let's get Legadu Nanee back on the team and try and turn him into a tight end!!!
I've suggested doing that with fuller because I've seen him work the middle of the field with some very good grace and coordination, and he's already 6'4 225.
