Do you like Jennings at 10-11 mil/yr which he's asking for instead of Wallace for 12? Not me. Jennings for that much is overpaying.

Absolutely!! Jennings is a much better receiver than Wallace. I'd go up to $35 million over 3 years to get Jennings. Jennings is a complete receiver. Wallace is a one trick pony. Your damn straight I'd pay more for Jennings than I would Wallace.

Well, I did say "Brady and NE"...in inference was the system he was in...but do you think if he'd been traded to most any other team he'd have been quite as successful ?? I'm not really dissing WW, but he's worth more to that system than to just about any other system....

PFF has a "Signature Stat" they recently developed which I like. I like it because I've been doing something extremely similar by hand since PFF first started putting out their stuff in 2008. Now that they're on board with this way of thinking about things, it's nice because I don't have to do it all by hand anymore. It's called "Pass Rush Productivity". The exact formula doesn't matter that much and it can be tinkered with but they have it as Sacks plus 0.75*Hits plus 0.75*Pressures, all divided by pass rush snaps. What's nice is since PFF has added it to their repertoire and they have such detailed position data (literally every position a player played on every single snap)....they're able to break this into right side versus left side, which I wasn't able to do before because they didn't make the data available.

So anyway from 2008 to 2012 there have been 137 players that have taken at least 400 pass rush snaps. Why did I cut it off at 400? Because that equates to about one season's worth of pass rush snaps for a full time player. It's arbitrary but it doesn't really matter.

Anyway where does Barnes rank in Total Pass Rush Productivity among those 137 players? He ranks #6 overall. Brandon Graham (the guy I would've drafted in 2010 at 12 overall) ranks #1, and Cameron Wake comes in at #2. Then Aldon Smith, then John Abraham (my top target free agent defensive end target), then Demarcus Ware. And then Antwan Barnes.

But we're not just looking for a pass rusher. We're looking for a RIGHT SIDE pass rusher, because Cameron Wake is pretty well entenched in the left side and has seemed to resist being moved to the other side full time. He's used to the left, and he's positively deadly from the left, whereas his PRP number from the right is extremely pedestrian, so keep him on the left. If you sort through all the pass rushers and take the ones that have rushed the passer 200+ times from the right side and tally up their right side only PRP figure...Antwan Barnes ranks #2 out of 116. Only Aldon Smith has done better.
