My Acer LCD moniter keeps turning off. I have to keep turning off and on till it finally stays on. Some times I have to restart the computer.
Had the exact same thing happen with my Acer LCD as well, luckily it ended up correcting itself and hasn't happened since, but there was a good week I was fighting on and off with it. Wish I could offer more useful advice, but really have no idea what happened.
I have an LG and mine works okay so I can't really help you but don't try and fix your monitor yourself (I mean digging around in it) either send it off or return it. It's not safe to go opening them up.
Question, is this monitor your laptop screen or a separate screen? I've found that alot of the Acer laptop problems can be solved by removing the battery for a minute or two and then putting it back in. For a week the Cinedash media console was frozen and I couldn't figure out how to get it working again. I stumbled across a site that gave the simple fix and I haven't had the problem since. If you have a separate monitor I would suggest you check the connections first, if that doesn't do the trick then it could be the inverter acting up.
It's what controls the power for the monitor. If it's that case, and it seems like it is, you will need to replace it if under warranty.
Is the inverter in the moniter itself. So I can just bring the moniter in for repair? Any idea on cost?
From what you've described it seems like it's the issue. Cost is probably exorbitant unless you know someone who can give you a good discount. Chip in some extra cash and you might as well buy a new one.
