IMO, it would depend how good the sex is. If she consistently gives good head, such as deep throating, and not just treating it like a lollipop, initiates it without being asked, and then swallows every time, then she is a keeper, and it is worth the small sacrifice. It's not like he has to totally miss the game either. Watching it on DVR is even better anyway IMO. FF through all the gawd damn, repetitive, mind numbing, intelligence insulting commercials, and MNF has more than it's share.

You know women better than that a fifteen minute trip will be a hour and a half before it's over especially if they know your in a hurry. ( You need to get our luggage we're tired. ( Lets stop and eat before we get home I'm not cooking we're tired and haven't eaten) ( Oh wait a minute Mom needs to go to the restroom) ( Stop at the drug store I'm out of girly stuff).

Time spent driving there, parking, walking to baggage: 25 minutes.
Time spent greeting her, waiting for luggage, and walking back to car: 15-20 minutes.
Time spent driving home: 15 minutes.
Time spent on the ride home listening to her yap about the trip when all you wanna do is watch the 4th quarter: not priceless.

or.. if he did drop her off then he shouldn't have to pick her up too. Keep both options in play so that it's like "heads I win, tails you lose".

Nope, there are hordes of women who are good at that stuff, sex after all is not rocket science.

Now if He's into her, then things change, sex is merely the female weapon, the male weapon is commitment..and men just give it away.

Far far to much of a lack of understanding on men's part

Go pick her up. In the long run, you will be better off. Maybe the airport has a sports bar and you could go there early and watch the game until the plane lands.

    LOL, pappy.
Hey what happened to "behind every hot woman is a man who's tired of doinking her"? If I had a GF who withheld nookie or BJ's b/c I failed to cave into a selfish, trivial, unfair need, then I'd be fine with searching for a woman who's equally good at the nookie but will respect my love for the Dolphins.

hey, I like the commercials. They allow for bathroom, beer, and snack breaks, plus time for conversing on ThePhins in the gameday threads. Personally, I can't stand watching it on DVR knowing the action has already occurred. That's a last resort option for me, and this instance doesn't qualify for last resort IMO.

Hordes of women, who are options for him, who besides consistently giving great head and swallowing, are also good girlfriends in all other ways? Doubtful. Maybe for you, what with being Val Kilmer's twin and all. :shifty:

I have a friend who was a long haul trucker. He had a somewhat younger, totally hot wife. When he came home after being on the road for a few days, the first thing his wife would always do, without saying a word, was grab his hand, lead him into the bedroom, sit him down on the bed, get down on her knees, and take care of business by giving him awesome head. Once that was taken care of, they'd settle back into their everyday routine. Now, that is how a good wife/gf is supposed to be.

Eh, have your eyes covered up b/c they are so blue and intense then throw the D well enough and such situations as Mr Gish is dealing with tend to not arise.

    Swallowing etc?

Child's play, break a woman down sexually and she will say "..do what you want to me..."

Eh, for me, it's more "..take your belt off and spank me with it, stop talking, more spanking.."

Granted that is not "joe average" sexual resume, it is what I deal with when I bother with that stuff.

Mr Gish has put himself into a bargain position, in this case, b/c moms is involved do what you have to do..for myself in that situation..I'd pick them both up, hide the sword with a smile and deal with it later

What's worse about this is she doesn't seem to be showing compassion or remorse for putting Gish in a compromising position. She seems to be doing the exact opposite really and doesn't appear to be validating his strong feelings toward the Dolphins in the slightest. So there's no friggin' way I'd reward that type of behavior by picking her up. Would.not.happen.

Some people tolerate being manipulated out of fear the other will dump them if they don't concede. I'm not one of them.

That makes no sense. General rules are general rules. Either you put up with that type of manipulative behavior or you don't, especially when you're not bound to the person by law.

Mind = blown at the support OP's girlfriend is getting.

She doesn't respect him and all but threatens to end their relationship if he doesn't do what she wants. This can only get better from here lulz...

She thinks that what she wants is more important. And she knows Gish also believes what she wants is more important. If I had to guess, she's pulled similar bull**** like this on OP before. And he's given in before. This type of thing doesn't randomly just occur 1 year into a relationship.

    This thread is depressing.

Listen dude I ahven't read the rest of this thread but I am gonna assume no one has told you this.... In the grand scheme of things missing 15 minutes of a football game is NOTHING, I don't know how much you care about her but if you really do and see yourself having a future with her than just go pick her up. Take the time to appreciate what you have around you, the dolphins can wait, they won't be going anywhere anytime soon and if they are as good this season as their record indicates then you are in for a bunch of awesome games anyway. Don't let someone who loves you potentially get away because you are watching something that doesn't even know you really exist, you'll be home in time to see the end of the game and will have a much happier household to sleep in for the short term for it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Another gem. Exactly what's happening. Which is why I'm so baffled people actually are supporting her.

And for every person ITT who has said some variation of "It's only football" please re-read Phin's bolded sentence about fear and manipulation. And then take the Dolphins out of the equation. OP has plans, and it doesn't matter what they're. We know they're important and that's all.

    - GF knows OP has definitive plans he's been looking forward to and doesn't want to break them, unless there's an emergency
    - GF is flying in and has planned all along to get home via her father
    - GF changes her mind and demands OP pick her up
    - OP reminds GF of his plans
    - GF questions their relationship
    - OP tries to solve situation amicably and presents her with alternative options even despite the fact there's no need to... The original plan of her father picking her up is still perfectly acceptable.
    - GF essentially threatens OP with breaking up, since she can't be with someone who doesn't do whatever she wants, when she wants.

Still think Gish should suck it up?

funny you should have that story. The exact same thing happened to me on that day. My gf was walking the Susan g comen walk in Tampa. I agreed to take off work on Friday and stay in a hotel with her mom all weekend, and show up to every cheering station over the course of 3 days. But I insisted that I couldn't be at the finish because I was meeting up with our good buddy Skeet to watch the phins murder the jets. She was disappointed I wasn't at the finish, but I was there in time for the closing ceremony.

Get the heck out'a here with this nonsense with all due respect. Why the hell should he have to miss at least 45 minutes of the game, possibly the end of it?! What is so goddam important about a girlfriend meeting her boyfriend at baggage claim rather than 20 minutes later at home that she has to threaten him with a dramatic "football or me" ultimatum plus have him miss part of a game he badly wants to see?! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

give me a friggin' break with this insecure scaredy-cat mentality. If she truly loves him, their entire relationship wouldn't be so goddam volatile to where she would treat something this trivial as a deal-breaker, nor would she trivialize his feelings about the Dolphins, nor try to manipulate him. If you, yourself, wanna be a whipping boy b/c you're afraid of upsetting an irrationally acting woman then that's your prerogative, but don't take others down with you and act as if it's the only way to maintain a relationship. You know who are the guys most likely to get dumped or have less than fulfilling relationships?--> the timid ones who jump when the woman says jump, and then they act all surprised when she dumps him, saying "but but but I jumped every time you said jump".

Secondly, regarding "much happier household to sleep in", much happier for who? Her? It most likely won't be a happy sleepy time for him knowing he had to needlessly compromise himself. I LOL at this type of mentality by guys who think the way to secure a woman is to put her on a pedestal and succumb to her every whim. The majority of women don't want a guy who lacks a backbone. Typically, once they discover he has none, they begin walking all over him, and he becomes the guy who fills the void until the next one comes along. You suggesting that he tolerate being walked on out of fear of losing her is the worst relationship advice you could give.

Right... and at this point it's not about the time involved. It's about not giving in to her manipulation, and it's about how she doesn't seem to be validating his feelings about his life as a Miami Dolphins fan yet wants him to drop all to support her. Plus the "choosing me or football" comment is just dramatic. You'd think by her statement that Gish wanted to spend the entire seasoning traveling as a groupie on some sort of football sabbatical.

Yeah really. This is just pure ridiculousness to the nth degree. For Gish's girlfriend it might be "only football", but to Gish and the rest of us here it's obviously not just football or else we wouldn't be posting on a friggin' Dolphins fan forum, nor would Gish be creating a thread about how to handle the situation. Most of us here identify ourselves as a Dolphins fan, well at least one aspect of our identity anyway. I'd LOVE to see those who said "it's only football" willingly hand their TV remote over to their girlfriend/wife Monday night. Let's see if their tune changes then.

And it's not your responsibility to make it easy on her parents since their trip wasn't on your behalf, so I hope she knows it's unfair of her to shoulder you with that burden.

I don't like it at all. It's a disgusting tactic. As far as those saying essentially cower and give in to what she is saying, I can't see that working out. From what we've been told she's not the type to take message in the right way and understand that it's give up one battle for another. If someone is so blatantly disregarding something that's meaningful for you it shows a tremendous lack of respect. There was one guy who said to pretty much cross her off from a wedding possibility. At first I thought it was too strong, but it's not. If in the GF stage where she's identified a guy she likes and wants to seal in an agreement she's a totalitarian I can only imagine what a bully would be like with the keys to the kingdom in marriage.

What's the ****ing problem? Your girl misses you, go pick her up so it doesn't look like she has a douche Bf who doesn't come and pick her and HER FAMILY from the airport.

Bring her home, tell her how much you've missed her, heave passionate sex, go outside and smoke a joint, go inside and watch the game commercial free.

Or you could let her parents ask her why they have to take a cab, the whole ride home.

This is no reason for this, not with modern technology.

Man up and take care of business if you love her.

What do you mean "what's the ****ing problem"? Did you not read the title of the thread? Obviously it's an issue, just as it would be for many of us in this situation. You act like she's coming back from Iraq or something. His GF and her mother booked the trip, so they can see their own butts home. He's not a son in law; he's a boyfriend.... and he's already acting graciously by allowing her mother to stay the night so she can be closer to her doctor's appointment. Plus he offered to drop off her car at the airport, making your "taxi cab" notion obsolete.

So you think Gish would "look like a douche for not picking them up" but his girlfriend's father gets a free pass for not picking up his own goddam wife and daughter whom he has a greater responsibility to than Gish does?
    in blue

Man up my butt. You got a funny definition of manning up. Since when does manning up involve caving into silly ultimatums and compromising yourself b/c you're afraid to disappoint an irrationally acting woman? That's the polar opposite of manning up. I'm not gonna say it's womaning up b/c that's derogatory. It's manning down is more like it. It's putting a tutu on your balls.

So what do you propose? Have him drop the car off, which would inconvenience someone else, have her drive home, and then just ignore her until the game is over?

If he values the relationship, which he obviously does, read the title, then this is part of it.

The ONLY sacrifice he is making is to not see the game live, GTFOH!

And no, he isn't the step sob yet but Jesus, Your talking about a live football game, which you can still watch that night, over your gf and her mother?

If I was him I would feel like an *** watching the game as they walk in
