http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/index.asp I'm all for treating animals with dignity and respect, unless they taste great over pasta with a lemon white wine burre blanc sauce, then I draw the line.
I'm going to call worms "dirt puppies". Ahh the fearsome Great White Sea Kitten truly the most dangerous sea kitten of them all, the Bull sea kitten is up there, as is the Mako Sea Kitten and the Hammerhead sea kitten.
In keeping with the "image makeover", I have re-named a certain piece of my anatomy: "Delicious Yum-Yum Stick". I'll let you guys know how it goes.
good luck with all that. the problem is a fish is still a fish regardless of what you call it. fishermen are not going to rename themselves seakittenmen and they will still catch, filet and eat FISH. I'm guessing that no woman is ever going to come near your "Delicious Yum-Yum Stick" anyway and naming it that would drive them away I would think. Unless you're trying to lure some children in.. and that's a whole nother ball game right there.
I went out Sea-kittening after Thanksgiving, caught myself a nice sized Sail Seakitten. I actually laughed out loud, my brother thinks I'm a crazy person, thanks Marty! So I shouldnt underestimate you?
I'm with you on this. I'm all for a watchdog organization to make sure animals are treated with basic care, even those being produced for the sole purpose of food production. PETA however does far more harm than good to this cause. They are so radical and take such absurd stands that they get anyone involved in animal rights labled with a whacko label.
....fava beans and a nice chianti! Big Dogs gotta eat!!!! Its all relative...and sometimes relatives!
Personally I feel bad for the way oranges are raised. They're all grown on trees that are pretty close together, they're left out in the sun, rain, cold, whatever. Then when they reach sexual maturity they are taken out of the trees by monstrous machines run by little elf sized people, put into trucks, their blood is squeezed from their plump bodies for our consumption, or they are eaten alive after their skin has been pulled off by hand. Tree kittens would never suffer like that.
On another note.... After seeing the thread title, I initially thought "Sea Kittens" was some code word the navy guys like CNC used to describe what they hunt while in port.
For some on the sub, based on his other stories, I have to think others had Beans and Franks on their mind as they shopped! Lets be fair and know they each have their personal agenda.
P.S. back to the thread topic..... I hope PETA spends all of its funding and goes bankrupt with this type of message.....I can only hope the ACLU follows suit!!!!
