MLB 2k10 Perfect Game Winner ($1M)

2K Sports announced today that 24-year-old Wade McGilberry of Semmes, Alabama has won the $1,000,000 cash prize by being the first person to throw a verified perfect game in Major League Baseball 2K10.

The contest, which was held on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network, sought to award one lucky player a million dollars if they were able to throw a perfect game in MLB Today mode. However, in order to qualify for the contest, entrants had to be record and submit their entire game on DVD in order to meet the requirements for verification.

The competition, which began on March 2, would come to an end on May 1, with both 2K Sports and Twin Galaxies International reviewing submissions on May 2. After a lengthy reviewing process, 2K Sports had determined that Wade McGilberry was the first person to throw a perfect game.

"It was actually my wife who convinced me to go for it," said Wade McGilberry. "I never thought I'd actually win a million dollars playing a video game, it's all still sinking in for me."
