Dave W. is a major reason why we are where we are today. Don't forget that. Also, you'll never hear me wishing for the days of Jay F'ing Fiedler. I'll wish for the defense we had that Jay rode to success.
I liked Fiedler as a person but man he is not a good NFL QB at all. Great guy to talk to though. And I don't miss the pornstache and his cigars either.
I'm not going to get into this because it's not worth it and I don't want to make the most knowledgable of finheaven posters, the best of the best, miss VIP anymore than they already do, but the defense Jay rode to success let us down almost as often as he did. I can go into specific examples of this and also examples of games Jay Fiedler won for us but nobody is going to believe it anyway. The bottom line is Tom Brady or Peyton Manning would struggle to win with this current team. All season long, when the offense played well the defense couldn't have stopped a pop warner team and when the defense has played well the offense couldn't score. Some games, like today's both units sucked. 0-16 is a reality now, the best we can hope for is the Patriots losing so one prestigious Miami Dolphin fans records can remain.
Yes, the defense did let us down in some big games. That does NOT take away the fact that we were playing with a QB that was in fact a weak point of the team.
Actually, from reading about the game today, I'd have to say that 0-16 is a certainty unless something changes for the better for the 'Fins...

I liked Jay Fiedler. He was much maligned, and I think unfairly. He wasn't Dan Marino, but, he was not Cleo Lemon, either.
resnor, It's not that I didn't like him either. I just came to a realization that we would never get to a Superbowl with him at the helm. In hindsight, I believe it was more about slow receivers than a conservative QB that contributed to our demise each year.
I will never miss Dave, Never. Jay I dont like to bash as the dude had a ton of heart and simply lacked the talent..... But I dont miss him much either.
Why are people comparing Fiedler to Beck? Because of the same number? Beck has a gun and Jay had trouble throwing a 15yard out!!!!!!!
Again, Disgustipate, I hear you make a comment about the VIP. I have heard great things about it, and was considering joining. However you make it sound like opinions aren't tolorated in there. Would someone explain that to me? Does everyone have to have the same opinion in VIP? I didn't see anything wrong with Dallas making the Jay and Dave quote. Those DO seem like the halcyon days compared to this team. It was funny. Instead of a meaningful post, you simply said that you longed for the VIP room. Why is that?
