Well he's supposed to interview with the Bucs tomorrow. I would hope Ross get's a chance to interview all the candidates who lost this weekend before he makes his choice.

Although I am leary of having another former Dallas Cowboys coach on our staff, seeing how Zimmer predates Bill Parcells days at Dallas maybe I can live with him as our coach...although I'd rather have Marty Schottenheimer.

I like Marty S also, but at 68? I think I'd pass on him. Marty was a winner everywhere he went. Cleveland, Kansas City. His one year in Washington, even though he started 0-5, the Redskins were playing the best football of any team at the end. He even built a winner in San Diego.
If Marty was 58, hell yes I'd take him, but 68?

I do like Marty but if we're going to go for an old as hell coach we might as well ask Shula to come back.

Zimmer seems to be a good fit right about now

    -Resign our defensive line
    -Get healthy
    -Bring in another pass rusher
-Get a little help in the secondary
    -Hire Mike Zimmer as HC

oh lawd that could be a sexy defense.

I wouldn't mind keeping Bowles around tho

Zimmer was always my number 1 after Fisher. I think he has "it". Hopefully we give him the shot.

I want to grab as many pass rushers as possible and just pummel Brady until he decides to just say **** it. A big defensive end, a third down pass rusher I really don't care. Get Zimmer and let him rush Brady silly as teams like the Giants would do.

I really don't see Philbin uprooting after his son dying. Personally, I'd still take Zimmer over those others.

This is beyond bad info. Zimmer went through 3 coaches BEFORE Parcells even got there.

With Zimmer, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nolan allowed to leave (Atlanta was rumored to be hot for him) and Bowles remaining as defensive coordinator. Assuming ofc Bowled isn't hired as a HC anywhere. Daboll imo would have a good chance of staying - doubly so if he was an Ireland guy more than a Sparano guy.

Of the guys they have looked at so far, I have the most interest in Zimmer. Like someone else said alot more guys are available to talk with now. I hope we take advantage of that since were not in a race for Fisher anymore. I would hope they take a little more time.

Just because they both worked for the Boys at the same time does not make them buddies.

Parcells inherited Zimmer when he took the Cowboys job. They were not cronies. You gotta remember KM, some fans around here will look for any god damn thing they can find to complain and criticize about.

    were doomed.

This guy sucks. Has always sucked, and will continue to suck. Of course, we will make him our head coach.

  37. I would not count him out just yet. Its a tragic loss but that does not mean he is going to stop coaching and he may chose to grieve by throwing himself into his work. He may welcome the idea of added responsibility to his life and a change of scenery to get away from bad memories.

If the report I heard is accurate the fact that Zimmer and Ireland know each other might be a good thing. Supposedly Ross killed the Fisher deal by refusing to be the tie breaker vote when there is a dispute between GM and HC. He wants roster issues left to the coach and draft and FA left to the GM. He wants them to do thier jobs and not involve him.

I do not understand why Chud isnt considered HC material. I heard the explination to be that he does not have enough contacts to put together a staff. That seems like a weak reason to not consider the guy for a HC postion. Do you really need to have buddies around the leauge to assemble a good staff not to mention we do currently have a full staff here minus one HC. Did Tony's son get fired too ?

That's a very astute analysis. Care to share with all of us less enlightened ones some specific reasons why you are so down on Zimmer? Anyone can say someone sucks, but unless you have some kind of reasoning to support the statement it ain't worth jack squat.
