always keeping an eye open for an upgrade. never satisfied. Thats what will make us the best in time.
Could this mean the rooks didn't impress as much as they could have? You have to wonder. Or possibly E. Green's replacement?
do not forget injury. also it could mean that the rookies impressed a lot and they do not see the need of E. Green, however would rather have a veteran back up
oh plz no say it aint so mckenzie was a liability for the saints secondary(watched alot of saints games) and from what i heard from friends of green bay when he left for the saints he was a liability for them a well.i'd rather stick with what we have or keep looking. its nice the fo is looking at everyone but i hope we stay away.
the FO is trying to put together a championship team .... if that means that the rookies don't start playing to later in the season, or just play in nickel and dime situations, that's ok with me .... we have few ??? left heading into camp .... namely, NT beyond Ferguson; WR beyond Ginn, Bess & Cam (coming off injury); ILB beyond Crowder; and CB beyond Allen ... we may have these answers - we may not .... but the FO will endeavor to ensure we have multiple options i haven't forgotten about RG, but at this point - i don't think it is an issue ... our OL will be fine (barring injury of course)
The article references ESPN and the Herald. I can't find anything on ESPN. But Barry Jackson's Tuesday article, the one he linked to, said this. This is no different than any other team in the league. And that certainly doesn't qualify as 'meeting' with the player. I have edited the thread title to reflect as much.
Safety depth would be a possibility with MM as well. Though at this point Im guessing hes injury insurance. Teams meet with FAs all the time for reasons of this nature.
When I last spoke to Greg (former owner of OTC Draft, for those of you who don't know Saint Greg), he mentioned that McKenzie was battling injuries for a year or two. He mentioned that the Saints secondary would have been much better this past season if both McKenzie and Porter did not go down. If McKenzie can have a healthy season, he'd be a great stop-gap free agent IMO.
It could mean this but dont be so quick to assume. FO may be looking for depth and experience because aside from will allen we have little experience in this position.
Look on the bright side, if we play the Raiders in the playoffs West Coast Dolphins fans can wear their Mannywood wigs..
heres a little discussion on this http://www.nfldraftbible.com/Daily-Dose/nfl_fish_put_vontae_davis_on_alert.html
I fail to see how they are putting Vontae Davis on alert. If anything, I think they are putting Eric Green on alert. He's been the whipping boy for all of the receivers in the OTA's.
i wonder who has more in the tank, mckenzie or surtain? mekenzie is actually older heh. i don't think either (both are 33) have too much left in the tank. CB is a young mans position
