I'm sure Amazon will still be $35-$40. I just renewed mine for $15 since I had a Amazon GC. I'm good for a year.
Ah we've been paying that price up here in Canada since the beginning. No skin off my back. Monday Night Combat alone has been worth Live's fee this year. Besides deals are always around. Only idiots pay full price for live.
Heard a rumor that MS was moving to dedicated servers, while PS is keeping P2P. That is probably why it will cost more. I didn't read the article, if it says it in there, sorry for being Captain Obvious.
They say it's to pay for the new features coming like ESPN, Hulu Plus, Kinect, etc. Personally I think all games should have to use dedicated servers. One of the many reasons I prefer my pc for gaming.
I guess it's a lame move but it's not really a significant increase. I got an email from microsoft offering me a renewal for only $40 because i'm already an existing member. I can't be the only one who got the email. So I'm actually going to pay LESS next year than i ever have before.
I highly doubt it but that would be worth the price finally. However it's just for the extra services (which means they should honestly have an op-in service instead really instead of making everyone pay for it). Hence why Canada's price isn't going up (that and the parity in the dollar lately) as we don't get many of these services at all. Seriously though...is anyone NOT playing Monday Night Combat yet? Think Team Fortress 2 meets tower defense.
Just got done with Mafia 2. Waiting for the multiplayer mod for that. But haven't really been on the PC much other than Mafia. Been playing the hell out of Madden 11 on the 360.
Scratched games, RRoD, and now this!? Never EVER buying a microsoft console again. I can't imagine why anyone would.
Never got the scratched discs, only one console RRoD'd after 3 years and I'm not going to get up in arms over something that might add a measly $2 to the price on sales of cards via Amazon etc.
