DEpends on... - how well he plays coverage.... - how well Spitler plays once his strength returns (he had salmonella two weeks ago) - can he play ST's worth a damn (see Walden) - Does Dobbins come back from injury
I liked what i saw from him. Hope he continues to improve. The roughing the passer was a joke penalty. This is football, not badminton.
Welcome to the forums, we now have two UK players on the team, I hope he sticks, he has a nose for the ball but I'm concerned about his speed.
Watch for him on special teams. I know that he was not on punt return because after playing a solid series at linebacker, he was coming out of the game on punt return. It's still early but that was not a good sign.
I like his game. Should be valuable depth for a 3-4 team. But his chances of making this team are slim imo. He's a classic thumper, nothing more. And we already have two of those on the team in Crowder and Dobbins.
In all fairness, I'd have to say that learning a defensive scheme to the point where you can play in an actual game is much harder than learning any level of special teams? (Unless of course there is some similarities between the UK defense and Mike Nolan's; then it could be real easy) They could in reality just show him flash cards of the punt/kick coverage or blocking scheme like they do with the scout team.
