Agreed, and he went after him, while still already having a head coach. You're going to tell me Ross firing Flores, a winning coach, and Harbaugh becoming available in the same yr is a coincidence? Dude has lusted for harbaugh his whole ownership.

Ross may not land harbaugh, but it won't be because he's convinced by someone else not to try.

Some very successful people are hard to work with. Personally I don't care as long as they can deliver. Among the HC candidates Harbaugh is one of those with a very successful record and I'd be thrilled if we somehow landed him.

McCoaching or Harbaugh, I would be fine with as long it‘s no Vance Joseph or Kellen Moore. But whomever it is they got to win me over and somehow I got the feeling we’re going to pick the wrong one yet again…

I feel like I can offer some unique insight to this. There are certain jobs that desire collaboration. Sometimes, people in those jobs may have bosses or people working below them that really do not have the knowledge required to add to the collaboration in a meaningful manner.

There are a lot of soldiers that are great at following orders... and should be left to following orders. The HC and OC may not want the WRs coach in on the game planning. Perhaps, his analysis against of opposing team's defense is weak or he tends to overestimate his own unit. A HC and OC may game plan together and decide on working a lot of intermediate routes and running multiple guys out of the slot. This same WR coach could be incredibly good at getting his unit prepared for this - good soldier/bad general.

Here is what happens more than people realize. Coaches are asked to "collaborate" with other members of the team (likely the front office in our case). What ultimately winds up happening is that these HCs (usually first year HCs) give in, and offer give and take when they shouldn't be giving in. Fast forward, and they realize that they wind up losing, the team underperformed, and they lose their job for doing something that they didn't want to do in the first place.

This is where things are different with more experienced HCs. They see the situation more for what it is. No matter what happens, they will be blamed. So if you are gonna wind up losing your job, would you rather lose it doing what you think is right or doing what someone else thinks is right. My guess is that Jim and others like him would much rather fail on their own terms.

Deebos Samuel is an entire NFL offense. Lynn Bowden Jr might be in the USFL next year.

We will find out, but I think you are discounting a very talented player.

And Deebos Samuel isn't an entire offense. He is a big part of it. I know Lynn Bowden Jr. believes he can play that role. It does seem built for him. Last season at times he seemed like the only wide receiver who showed up to play.

No offense; but to me this is a classic case of fans over evaluating our own players. I get the fact he's got some ability/talent and he's raw still; but he's done nothing at this point to show he's even worthy of that kind of comparison or could replicate the success that Deebo has had if McDaniel is our next HC. Intrigued to see how he factors in next year; but it's also just as likely he's not even on the final 53 next year which is why this comparison is just way off base IMO

This is a classic case of the "grass is always greener on the other side."

He might not make the team. I cannot see the future. I do think he will. I think he can play similar roles if he does take the next step.

He's not comparable at all. Bowden can throw a pass that's about it. Something tells me Samuel can even do that better than him.

Deebo isn't responsible for the run game being good. The creative use of him has just added to it which can't be used as a negative. They certainly aren't doing it off the backs of elite RB talent either.

Is he going to work out? Probably not because its Dolphins but we have no idea how prepared he would be. Its a good coaching tree and there really is no comparison to someone like Gase. That is just lazy.

Yes it is. Because in the case of Deebo versus Lynn Bowden Jr. The grass certainly is greener on the other side because Samuel is the far more talented player and likely always will be and Bowden has proven nothing that can even lump him into the same discussion; let alone to be considering him as the reason we should consider hiring McDaniel to build an offense around... Lynn Bowden Jr like they've done in SF with Samuel. Grass certainly is greener; always will be in regards to these two players and you can comfortably bet the house on that.
