Okay if you believe this...we will trade you Mark Blount and a future #1 for Bynum and Kobe.

    It's a fair deal. Let's do it.

The only way I could see a Wade to Chicago deal is if Wade instigated it, wanting out of Miami. Theres been hint of that so this is probably just wishful thinking by the Chicago media.

Sorry meant there to a NO hint of that I saw Wade on TV recently and he said he was happy there. Sorry went to work all day and left that up.

Well, I could compare this season's W-L records between the two.... :wink2:

Ok, it's likewise as insane as a Pau for Kwame+Crittenton deal. That's what I was trying to say. Crazy trades happen and again I'm not saying Wade is going to the Bulls, I'm just saying insane trades happen...

There has been NO hint of it. NONE. This all started with typical Sam Smith speculation. HE of the" Kobe is guaranteed a Bull"..and he of the "Garnett is a lock to the Bulls"..and HE of the "Phil Jackson is coming back to Chicago to coach Kobe" and of course..HE of the "Wade will sign in Chicago"

Sam Smith is for some reason a respected journalist when his entire history is making stuff up.

Wade also made a comment last week about it being tough playing in front of your home crowd. The comment was geared towards speculation of Chicago selecting Rose with the first pick. Dwyane was probably playing the simple GM role, but still. He does play like trash against Chicago whenever his family is there.

Sorry I wrote that first post in a hurry and went to work. I meant to write theres been no hint of that, key word to leave out. I do think this is made up by wishful Chicago media. Everyone's trade able at some level but Id doubt Wade goes anywhere.

BTW..this Kobe and Bynum for Mark Blount trade is getting alot of traction.

It is a hot and heavy rumor.

We trade Wade for the #1 and we would have this lineup:

    Rose
    Kobe
    Marion
    Haslem/Beasley
    Bynum

    Let's do it.

Not really. I don't think you can compare Kobe to Wade at all, and the fact that Wade is getting more in return than the reigning MVP and a top 3 center in the league is even more insulting.

On another note, I can't believe I am arguing about a fake trade rumor that was started because of another fake trade rumor. God is it at least preseason yet?

I wouldn't mind that trade. I really want beasley/rose, but a back court of Wade and Billups would be sick although i don't know how much longer billups has on his contract? That deal would also get rid of Marcus Banks and Mark Bloutn which is addition by subtraction

That trade sucks, why would Miami want Billups? If they watched the playoffs this year they'd see that Billups doesn't have that many good years. Giving up Rose or Beasely for a couple of years with Billups/Wade in the backcourt? Cmon.

Wow. I honestly don't know how I should feel about such a trade. I think the Pistons need a shakeup, and that would certainly do it. Presumably, we'd take Beasley at #2, since I think Rose is a lock at #1. He's the low post scorer we lacked in the playoffs, and the idea of him rotating at the power spots with McDyess, Wallace and Amir Johnson is sweet.

  22. phunwin

Billups will be 32 next year, and players with his build and skill set age pretty gracefully, so it's not like they're getting two years and that's it. Try also to remember that he was hobbled with a bad hamstring for much of the playoffs, and was very good before the injury, and after he fully recovered (he was positively brilliant in game 6 against Boston). The four years left on his contract are fairly reasonable, and he's a near-perfect fit with Wade in the backcourt.

I think that's a pretty rational trade for Miami, especially if they're not nuts about Beasley. They dump a pair of crummy contracts, get an up and coming power forward in Maxiell, and get a perfect running mate for Wade.

Sure it makes a ton of sense....if you're a Detroit fan.. C'mon that trade is nonsense. This trade would make sense if the Heat were set up for a title run with the acquisition of Billups, they aren't. Even with Wade and Billups do you really see them going through even a weak East? The Heat have a golden opportunity to get another top tier talent to go with a young Wade, the trade makes no sense for the Heat. Makes tons of sense for a retooling Detroit who would love to get rid of their players over 30 and redo the roster, but the Heat are rebuilding and Wade is still young, it makes much more sense to stick with either Rose or Beasley. I wouldn't trade the number one or number two pick in this draft for Billups. No one has ever won a title field salary cap space either, it would be nice to clear room if you're Miami but really is LeBron or another top talent really going to hit the market and go there? Maybe, but its a roll of the dice. The best bet is to take one of the top two and build around Wade and Rose/Beasley, get back to the playoffs and go from there.

I would think the Heat want a little more in that trade. Now if you somehow add in Prince... and maybe Marion (since he is in the last year of his contract) then maybe. That would make a bit more sense. But to give up either the first or SECOND pick this year, you need an all star and another starter MINIMUM.

That would be an awful deal, and it wouldn't stand a single chance of being completed. There's no way Miami deals the #2 pick to a team like Detroit. Their young pieces aren't valuable enough, and their established players are all 30+ (aside from Prince, who isn't a franchise changing player, anyway). The #2 pick this year is golden, so I'd expect gold in return. Chauncey Billups at age 32 and Jason Maxiell is an offer beyond laughs.

Rodney Stuckey would be required in any deal that has to do with the #2 pick and the Detroit Pistons, and I'm sure it would take a third party to send out an All-Star caliber player to Miami, perhaps in return for Billups, Rip, Sheed, or a combination.

Without getting a top 5 pick back, the #2 pick is worthy of an All-Star player and a starter.
(EDIT: unless that all-star is a Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire type. You can have Marion, too)

I would love that, but y would they want to trade Amare? He is young and already an established player. Top 3 Center, especially if they are keeping Nash and Shaq they need to win now

He's a PF, and Phoenix tried to move him last year for the #3 pick but Atlanta backed out of the deal.

Of course it's a year later and he's proven that he can make a full recovery and still play at an elite level, but who knows. Amare Stoudemire and Chris Bosh are two players that I'd move the pick and a player for in a heartbeat, though.

I'm up and bored until 7AM, so what I did was over-analyze Chad Ford's garbage article and I came up with a hypothetical plan from hell.
    http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draf...ry?columnist=ford_chad&page=DraftNotes-080605

    Miami Trades: Dwyane Wade
Chicago Trades: Derrick Rose (#1), Drew Gooden, Joakim Noah, Thabo Sefalosha

    Miami Trades: Udonis Haslem
Orlando Trades: Carlos Arroyo, J.J. Redick, Kosta Koufos (#22)

Miami Trades: Shawn Marion, Daequan Cook
Dallas Trades: Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse

Mid-level exception doesn't even get touched until at least 2009.

    G - Derrick Rose
    G - Jerry Stackhouse
    F - Josh Howard
    F - Michael Beasley
    C - Joakim Noah

    6. Drew Gooden
    7. Dorell Wright
    8. Alonzo Mourning
    9. Carlos Arroyo
    10. Thabo Sefalosha
    11. Chris Quinn
    12. J.J. Redick
    13. Kosta Koufos
    14. Joel Anthony
    15. Stephane Lasme

We've got hopefully two young SUPERSTARS, a ton of young talent from top to bottom, and we're filthy rich in 2010 when Howard expires.

DISCLAIMER: I didn't even check the salaries for proper matches, *****es. I wouldn't even consider the first trade. I'm just trying to figure out what Chad Ford is smoking by taking a hypothetical puff with him. Ya dig?

My guess is that they'd say no. Not because the value's ridiculous (it's a reasonable deal for both sides), but because they'd have to take back Mark Blount and Marcus Banks to make it work. Part of the reason they were willing to trade Stoudemire to Atlanta for the #3 last year was that they could trade him straight up, without taking any salary back.

    Yes...Blount is our albatross.

Since you ar e apistons fan..you gotta be nervous with all these trades being talked about...are they really gonna dismantle the entire team except for Rip and Tashawn?

  32. phunwin

phunwin Happy kids are Dolfans. Luxury Box

Actually, I'm not all that nervous. This is a very good team, but it's run its course with it's current core. Can't be too upset with their track record: 1 NBA title, 2 Finals appearances and 6 straight appearances in the ECF. But every good thing comes to an end. I thought a shakeup was due after last year, actually, but they decided to give it one more run. I don't blame them for that; it's hard to break up a good team. But this year's ECF was proof that a change needed to be made. Last year, they could pin it on a funk that set in after Saunders coached game 5 with both hands around his neck ("what, double LeBron? Why would I do that, he's only scored 29 of the last 30 points for the Cavs!"). This year, it was clear that they just weren't good enough. They played hard, Saunders coached tolerably well, and they just came up short. Part of that was Chauncey Billups not being healthy for the first five games. Part of it was Rasheed Wallace getting *****slapped by Kevin Garnett through most of the series. But the fact remains, they weren't good enough, and even with a healthy Billups, I don't think they would have won the series (Exhibit A: games 5 and 6, where Billups was excellent, and they still lost). So they can't pin it on injuries, and I don't think they plan to.

I'm not worried because Joe Dumars has earned my unconditional trust at this point. Even the one truly bad move of his reign, Darko over Melo, has been redeemed somewhat. For one, they don't win the 2004 championship without Tayshaun Prince's defense, which wouldn't have developed as it did if they had Anthony at the 3. Maybe they would have won in 2005 and/or 2006 with Anthony instead of Prince, but a bird in the hand and all that. Moreover, Milicic was traded to Orlando for the pick that became Rodney Stuckey, who looks like a star in the making.

What will happen? I've no idea and I can't even speculate. There was the rumor about Billups and Maxiell going to Miami for the #2, which is probably bogus. There's some smoke about a deal with Denver as well, which would revolve around Billups for Anthony. Another deal that was mentioned involved Billups for AI. There's a columnist who thinks Rasheed Wallace would be a great fit for the Bobcats and thinks the #9 pick plus a couple players might make sense. Every day, there's probably going to be a new rumor. Oddly enough, I know he's no favorite of KiNG's, but Chad Ford is a guy worth listening to if you want to get some inside dope on what might happen in Detroit. He's long had an in with that organization, and speaks with Dumars directly. He's good friends with Tony Ronzone who was (and I think still is) Detroit's top scout.

The only guy who's certain to be back is Stuckey (and by certain, I mean "he's only traded if someone absolutely blows the Pistons away with an offer"). Hamilton's the most likely of the starters to return, and I'd put the odds of him being back at about 90%. Then probably McDyess at 85%, just because he's got more value to Detroit than anyone else. Prince will probably be back, but Billups and Wallace stand decent chances of being moved.

I'd have to imagine that we're going to be looking at some defensive big bodies, especially if Michael Beasley is our guy. With a core of Dwyane Wade, Shawn Marion, and Michael Beasley, having someone like Desagana Diop or Jeff Foster in the middle is ideal, especially for what should be a bargain price. I'm hoping for Jeff Foster - extremely underrated defender. He's exactly what we need for a good 25 minutes per game, then you figure in Blount and Zo for the rest.

Only thing with Foster is that he's not much of a shot blocker, but since Zo is coming back and Joel Anthony seems to be developing nicely, that shouldn't be too much of an issue. Stephane Lasme is also a fine shot blocker for his size and position.

If we have to use the full mid-level, then it's going to be a 2-year deal or 3-year deal with a team option, anyway. As long as we're set up nicely for the 2010 summer, we'll be in good shape. We just need a few glue guys.......

Yeah, dude. I was just looking over the free agent list the other day, and Jeff Foster's name stood out to me as an under the radar type of guy who could really help this team defensively.

    Yep.

Dwyane Wade doesn't think he's going to be traded by the Miami Heat, despite plenty of internet rumors to the contrary.
"Your name is going to come up," Wade said. "Things are going to be said. It's not a bad thing. That means you're wanted somewhere or it means people think highly of you. I just laugh at it." Wade said he and Pat Riley have spoken and Riley told him that he's not going anywhere. This is not surprising, as the rumors were laughable to begin with. Jun. 6 - 10:58 am et
