http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-folsom-miami-dolphins-081509,0,5964012.story We could use some depth, so...cool.
Folsum has been making his presence known during camp this year. I figured he had some speed, and he showed it.
what are the chances? Rookie( ILB) J.D. Folsom is starting to get some attention at training camp. He claims he feels good in the system & senses things going his way. Coach Sparano was very impressed with how quickly he's picked things up & his exceptional speed in pursuit of (lateral plays) RB's. Only complaint was the coach wants him (6'3" 235) to put on more weight. Sparano mentioned that he'd like to see him on SpecialTeams, as well as @ ILB. Could this seventh-round draft pick out of little known Weber State be another Zach Thomas in the making? Just a thought, however I picked him in a previous post making the final cut of 53, not riding out the practice squad this year. The team needs help in the middle @ NT & ILB. What are the chances?
He cant be another Zach Thomas in the making there is only 1 Zach Thomas. He has a great chance we dont have great depth at ILB and if he is a ST ace I believe he has a spot on the roster.
was thinking in terms of under-sized, quick game & lateral pursuit a player who was not picked to succeed by the pundits, coming out of relative obscurity
like minds do think there exists a Zach-like resemblance/aspect to Folsom might just be wishful thinking, but there is enough similarity to @ least make you consider the possibility sure could use another cowboy to ride into Miami in a timely fashion to help @ ILB
ILBs can play forever, look at a Zach and Ray Lewis lol. Would be good if he can turn into a player. At this point, having him be a badass special teamer (Larry Izzo type) and a decent ILB backup would be far more than most get from players picked in his spot.
