Looks like this may actually happen and rather fast.

Looks like Chicago was pushing for him as well

God I hope so. Nolan's defensive philosophy fits our team and our personnel great. I can't see why Chicago thought he would be a good fit there, they're married to the T2 as long as Lovie is there, or so I'd imagine. Here Nolan gets the be the "Head Coach of the Defense" so to speak, he is far and away my #1 choice.

I agree. Chicago would be a far different scheme than what Nolan has proven to be good at. If they were really looking at bringing him in, I suspect Nolan probably wasn't too keen on going.

I was in panic mode a couple days ago when Romeo, Butler and Groh took other jobs.

My fears are being put to rest.

Mike Nolan seems like a good idea, but:

Why was he fired from Denver?

I don't think he was fired GH. Everything I've read indicated he and McDaniels had a "mutual parting of the ways." Could be many factors, but the early book on McDaniels seems to be it's my way or the highway.

Their loss is our gain IMO.

I believe it was because Belichick let go of his defensive coordinator in Pees.
Seeing that McDaniels copies everything Belichick does, he wants Pees on his team.

That or Nolan could have made fun of the music on McDaniel's Ipod and he got mad and shipped him out of town.

He wasn't fired. They mutually parted ways. Word is Mcdaniels is a little dictator and they just clashed. That combined with Pees being available made it just common sense for all to move on.

the broncos blew it big time, again, and this time they didn't have shanahan to blame for it. So now they're putting the blame on Nolan because McDaniels is still too new to cast off.

It's politics. They had a top 10 defense and they let go of the DC? Does not compute.

I knew they always had a plan in mind. This will hopefully be a great turnaround for our defense.

It better be or this regime is on the Hotseat.. You don't get 5 years anymore.

I mean if this fails and next year were talking about another season to get players etc were at 4 years to fix a problem.. Way to long in todays NFL.. just saying.

it could also be why ggroh & butler said no. Could be we told them we were waiting on permission to speak w/ Nolan & each wanted an answer now or wanted to be top choice and if not they were gone. Sparano could have ssid he was waiting on Nolan & here we are. not ssyin it is, but that could
