Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

I think a lot of those who don't like it today will like it when they see it in it's full glory on jerseys, helmets, t-shirts, etc. The ones shown here by the players are cheap silk-screens, w/ weak colors.

When we see it in full resolution, w/ the right colors, I think it will sway some.

I am never without a hat since I'm 17 ...

This is when I go out and buy a few of the old ones for when i wear plain shirts.

But to wear a jersey with the new logo ya have to get a hat to match so I'm praying they wont be too bad.

I remember hearing the same thing last year when the new Marlins logo leaked. One year later, I still hate it, still haven't bought anything with it's likeness on it.

The two points are different. Absolutely. But one doesn’t invalidate the other like you imply.

Sure, there will be those - perhaps you - that will never like it, and that's fine, of course. Outside of the original from the early '70s, I like it the best of those that we've had, but that's just me. At least, I think I do, I'm reserving full judgement until I see it on official merch.

My dad is like that. Even though I do own about 5 Miami Dolphin hats, I don't wear any of them.

Maybe those new style hats that are more stylized, with a logo being half the hat or something like that would look better.

I just hope we get some decent t-shirts and hoodies out of all this. I've yet to see any w the old logo that weren't pretty weak.

As far as publicity goes....."New Dolphins Logo" is #6 on Yahoo's Trending Now list.

Yes the Miami Dolphins facebook posted a picture of him with the shirt, and they are giving away the shirts in the "Fin Club" through a sweepstakes. Fin Club is like a rewards program for logging into the website and stuff.

Yes, that's the point, they're still curved. I never said they had to have a drastic curve like the original one. I only said they should identifiably look like they're jumping. Even a less drastic curve than the original still lends the perception of a dolphin jumping, whereas the new one looks as much or more like he's swimming than jumping based on perception and the mind's association of what jumping & swimming dolphins looks like.

When a dolphin means business it looks like Row 9 Column 3 in your Bing search. Not far out of the water, slightly curved body but nose and tail parallel to the surface.

Personally, I don't care about what a dolphin may look like in the wild when he means business b/c the perception is what should be more important IMO. If you want a dolphin to look like he's jumping in front of a sun, then make it look like he's jumping, not this confusing posture the new one has where you can't really tell what the heck he's doing. But even row 9 column 3 is still arched downward regardless of how slight it may be, not upward like the new logo. On top of that it goes back to symmetry, which I thought graphic designers place a great deal of emphasis on. Where's the symmetry of an upward turned dolphin when you have a downward curved helmet and downward curved stripe down the middle of the helmet? Shouldn't the dolphin's posture also be arched downward to maintain that symmetry?

I just don't understand how anyone would argue against the subjective POV of others.

It's like people who can't see the optical illusion screaming at those that it doesn’t exist.

And when your twisted logic concludes that those who do see the optical illusion just hate the intended image, it proves your logic wrong.
