Missed that.

This makes it worst. It means that it isn't particular to my friend. it means that people are seeing this.

 

The uniforms and logos needed to already be approved by the NFL, which apparently they have. Unless they created an alternate logo or two, he's being a bit disingenuous.

 

I wonder if they are able to do that.

Not like I deal with this type of stuff for a living in a very similar medium... but continue to be a message board expert.

 

We basically wont find out anything for a while, but notice he did not deny the leaked logo was real or not.

 

I think it's certainly possible an alternate logo was created. I remember when Jimmy Johnson had the uniforms changed they also created that alternate logo with the dolphin holding the football, and apparently had an alternate jersey with that logo on it that never saw the light of day.

 

That is fine. I will continue to live in a reality where contracts are broken.

Think of it like an extensive interview. They will look at hundreds of rough prototypes, have some brought back for revisions, and those revisions will be revised again tens of times while some others are being eliminated. Considering there will be multiple people who will have a say in the decision making and revisions... it'll take a while. I highly doubt they have a final logo decided.

 

Wouldn't they already have done that part? My understanding by NFL rules the logo must be approved well in advanced of showing the public the logo. I don't remember the amount of time, however I am sure it is over 6 months.

 

The more I see it the more it grows on me, to the extent that our current logo looks old, cartoonish and just plain dumb. I would go further and dump the helmet stripes and simply have a clean white helmet and faceguard with the new logo. That would be much cleaner and classic looking as the new logo is longer and the stripes add nothing but detract from the new look making the helmet too "busy" looking.

I 100% agree however that the uniforms should also be changed and instead of the white on white the uni should be teaked to a light dolphin grey colour muchlike the Seahawks "wolf grey" uniform. A new-logo'd clean white non-striped helmet with bottlenose grey uniforms would look stunning in my opinion and be a true revamp/modernisation of our look. The aqua shirts could remain for night games or as our away uniform, perhaps all-aqua like against the Bears a few seasons ago.

the texans prototype pic i saw a while a go would come in handy right now but yeah you are right. There are so many different prototypes out there. They find one they like and mold it until they get the one they like. So yeah there is a chance that this was one design that got leaked, and nike would still be pissed that it was leaked. I just wish if this was a fan made logo they would say something and them not makes me believe this is one of the prototype Dolphins came up with, and it could be a final one because of how finished it looks color wise

 

A Jets fan made fun of it? I immediately love this logo now.

That tiny clip art football under the "Jets" script looks way more like a turd than that Dolphin silhouette.

The Winnipeg Jets did a much better job with their logo than the NJ Jets.

I don't know the specific league rules. It could be that. I would think they'd be close to making a decision (February/March?) but knowing specific league rules could change my thought process. When did past NFL logos release to the public?

 

Which is exactly what happened when they made a big deal out of the logo for the stadium. It was out a month or so before it was revealed by the organization.

 

They're already way past that phase. They needed to notify the NFL a year in advance of any proposed change, so they've had plenty of time to work it. Mike Dee himself has already stated the logo was shown to a few former Dolphins, and apparently a few sources have stated the logos and uniforms have both recently passed the NFL approval stage.

It's either that or they submitted a few and leaked this one to get an idea of how people liked it. So it might end up being an alternate.

 

Yeah, I think that's basically the gist of it.

I don't think you're going to find a logo that a significant majority of people are going to like regardless of what it is.

 

Why would he? If he denies it, he'll have to deny all other inquiries. And if he doesn't, well know whether or not any future "leaks" are the real deal or not. It's far easier just to say something neutral. I don't think it means anything. If it does mean something I hope it's "dolphin fans hate it, so were moving in another direction."

 

A while back Mike Dee said they might do it so I would imagine yes....

I guess all we can do is wait and see. I assume the logo will be released before the draft day hats hit the shelves... whenever that is. I don't remember if they're released before the draft or right after.

 

Maybe the finished product will see the same Dolphin in the leaked logo, but in the same/similar pose as the previous logos? That might look pretty good.

I don't mind the way the Dolphin looks, though adding at least somewhat of a face would look good, but the position looks funny since it looks like its swimming underwater rather than jumping.

 

The original logo would be a hands down winner.

 

Ehh, I'm not sure. I like the original better but it's certainly not unimpeachable.

That is a good point. Still if they want to even come close to keep it a secret, suing the websites for showing the logo would state, that is for sure the logo.

Heck, NFL goes after streaming websites, however you can still watch NFL games for free on the internet.

 

Love the Dolphin accept there is too much blue in it. Get rid of the blue in the sun as well. That said, if they rolled that out I could live with that. It all depends on what they do with the uniforms though.

 

I like the new sun...so that is something, right?

Maybe if they just bent that tail down it wouldn't be so bad (or drastic).

It's been said multiple times but it really does look like a whale, and yes I know that they are related/have similar features, etc.

It doesn't change the fact that it looks like a whale...and a corporate logo as opposed to a team logo.

 

Prediction: April 19th is when the Logo and Unis are fully unveiled

 

I've seen a few Facebook sites and it was overwhelming and those sites are huge. I would not mind it If it was tweaked to be filled in with more color either but it has to be aqua IMO

Yeah they should thin the blue out on the dolphin and either get rid of it on the sun or use the sun from the supposed prototype. I like the two heights of the flames

 

I agree. You're going to have a certain percentage that resists change to begin with, and then of the remaining percentage open to change some will like it and some will not. I'd be curious to see how logo changes in places like Denver, NE and Tampa were taken. I suspect they were met with a lot of resistance also.
