FYI - For anyone following who's new: I try to group Tweets as much as possible, and try not to spam posts with individual Tweets. The forum allows a max of 5 tweets per post, so I try to use them. If you see a post with a single Tweet refresh the page. Sometimes I'll use an initial Tweet as a place-holder and then go back and edit it to add in extra Tweets. Usually there will only be single Tweets if it's been ages since the last one, or if the subject matter is quite different.
I went to camp this morning: - They ran a lot of "12" packages all day long. Not just the team stuff, but there was a bunch of emphasis on individual or unit-based drills too- practicing motions, block combos, running route-based drills out of unbalanced alignments, etc. - They seemed to be throwing in some reverse reps too- they ran the play in scrimmage with Albert Wilson, but he seemed to be getting reps thrown in on drills practicing hand-off timing/footwork too - All three quarterbacks had rough days. Osweiler was awful, but Tannehill was late on a fair amount of his timing based throws in team drills. Fales wasn't much better. I wonder at what point you send Matt Moore a nice fruit basket? - Gray/Derby were starters, Gesicki/Smythe were the #2s at TE. - A lot of Gesicki's use was stuff from Penn State- off the line in a 2-point stance. They threw in some of the stuff where he crosses the formation and leaks out into the flat, etc. Got a rep as a fullback in pass protection, the only real two-back looks I saw. - There seemed to be a fair amount of work on curls, comebacks, and stab routes on individual drill sessions from wide receivers and backs. - Eric Smith caught a TD on a fake field goal from holder Matt Haack during the unit drills - Defensively it was all Wide-9, all day- no under looks that I remember. - They threw a couple of "Nosebacker" looks like they did with Buffalo last year with Raekwon McMillan coming down onto the LOS over the Center and both DTs in B-gap alignments. - Cayson Collins threw up and went to his knees right before a play started, was extraordinarily gatorade colored - Didn't see any 3 safety sub work, Nickel was all normal 4-2 stuff. Didn't see any Fitzpatrick slot work. - The safety in the box was based on side- if there was a motion that changed offensive strength the safeties swapped roles often. - Lots of split safety work, but that might be because of the amount of 2x2 alignments in general today. - They ran kick blocking drills with soccer balls for some reason. - Jakeem Grant got some reps as whatever they call the widest guy on the kick blocking formation. - Lucas Gravelle got a lot of work as the long snapper, he really looks kind of small for the position. - I don't know why they put the camera guy dead in the center of the uprights, he had to catch, dodge, or deflect a bunch of balls
