Just another take on our schedule: http://www.betfirms.com/2009-miami-dolphins-schedule/ Sorry, I just can't hear that enough. Mr. Sanchez, meet Mr. Porter. They have us going 7-9. I think their reasoning for some of the predicted losses are pretty week. The first three could go either way, IMO. I could definitely see us beating the Colts. They're getting older at certain positions and us having V. Davis ans Sean Smith, should, hopefully, if they live up to expectations, make things much more difficult for Peyton. Now, if we can apply good pressure on him at the same time, then that would really be great. Lame reasoning on this one, IMO. It's not a far distance to travel and no one really knows what the Jets will be like this year. If Sanchez does not work out, they could be really screwed for a long time. IMO, Clemens, definitely is not the answer. He doesn't scare me in the slightest. I just don't think he has what it takes to be a franchise QB. I actually thought that Ratliff showed the most potential out of all of their QBs, albeit, against third stringers, but I still think he has that "something" that could develop into a good player. They really better hope that Sanchez works out. Regarding the Pats, which the love affair between them and the media is still going strong. I think they also could be in serious trouble IF T. Brady does not come back to 100%. We've seen so many players that come back from knee surgery and they're are just never the same and like the Jets, I thought their back-up O'connell or O'donnell(sp?) showed a lot of potential as well, but now he's gone. I don't know. You never know how things will shake out, but I think we definitely have a good chance to continue our success from last year and have another successful season. There's always that chance, but I do not think, necessarily, that we are going to take a step back this year like many predict. JMHO.
I really think with our schedule we can be a six win team or a six loss team or somewhere in between. There is so little room for error this year. The tough teams we play are not just last year tough teams but HISTORICALLY tough teams (Indy, SD, Pit, etc.). IF we stay healthy and IF the new kids shine we can make a splash. A few bad breaks and we could be looking at a long frustrating season.
I believe a lot of people are underestimating the Dolphins and are making predictions under the pretext that this is the same team as last year. IJMO but I think this a much improved team from last year with an improved offense and defense. If the line protects and gives Pennington time and the new and old receivers come through then the running game will explode. If the new defensive pieces fall into place and the secondary can cover and the front seven are improved, then opposing quarterbacks will have problems. I guess that first game will be a good barometer not just because they might win but seeing just how good they have become.
I agree.. Glad you joined us Mike, we have an "Introduce yourself" forum, you should make a thread and say hello to everyone.
I agree with the website saying we will be right about 7 wins. Though I think they are wrong on some of the games we lose/win. But that site has The Pats going 12-4 which i dont see happening.
