Crowder... imo... has been somewhat of a disappointment... I question his dedication to the game... he really has been satisfied with just playing... he's never in great shape... and he's not a film room guy.. the physical ability is there... but the burning desire to be the best isn't... and it's reflected in his play...

 

Crowder has been a huge dissapointment, I'm not even sure he should be a starter anymore.

 

IMO not has he been somewhat of a disappointment, but after this season, a huge disappointment. Your 100% correct about all the things you said about him and it because he is too much of a clown. he like to joke around alot and he doesnt take anything seriously ever. Notice in his interviews hes always cracking jokes and *&^%. I think he has ALOT of growing up to do before he ever becomes a great player, and unfortunately he hasnt shown anyone is ready to be a mature human and take his career seriously

 

Open mindedness is one thing. Why would they trade a prime pro bowler for a LB with a year or two TOPS left in the tank?

 

Jones would never make that trade. Wed have to give up our 1st and ZT and maybe another player or late pick for that trade

 

Crowder needs a player like ZT to be the leader of the linebacking core. He did well last year (2006) when ZT was playing; he is a good "complementary" linebacker, when there is another linebacker to be the QB of the defense.

Remember what Parcells has done with linebackers in the past (see the original LT and Carl Banks, who both had Harry Carson as the QB of the defense). The talent is there, can Parcells translate Crowder's raw talent into performance on the field without Zach to guide him? That is the question. I'm not suggesting in any way that Crowder is in the same category as LT; all I'm saying is that he does have the talent to be a good NFL linebacker with the proper coaching and leadership.

I agree, Crowder needs somebody like Zach to feed off of. Crowder alone does not react enough to be a major force at MLB. I think that we will be drafting LB's in this draft, and that maybe BP will get Crowder to reach closer to his potential. As far as Dallas letting D. Ware go in a trade with the Fins, there's no way. I think the reason there's no talk of Garrett as HC is Parcells made a deal with Jones, we take scouts that you might loose anyway, and leave your valued coach alone. Sparano was likely gone anyway and Jones really wants to keep Garrett.

 

I don't know if you guys recall, but one of the knocks on Crowder being taken so high by Saban was that he had had multiple surgeries on both knees, which made him a risky pick in the 3rd. Now he is out again with knee probs and surgery. He may not be an issue for much longer just based on his physical problems.
