I'd be surprised if we won 6 games. We lost our QB, who also has more rushing yards than our starting RB (Since Thomas is hurt now as well), defense is one of the worst in the NFL, coaching staff is on the way out in January, our top WR has the most drops in the NFL, Carpenter has been shaky (or maybe because he has to kick 50 yard FGs), special teams doesn't do anything special, our one TE has to block because the O-Line is terrible and even Jake Long is struggling a bit coming off surgery.

Raiders are not going to be an easy game, they'll battle for a wild card. The only "easy" games are KC and DEN, though I think we'll win one of the "tougher" games like one of the Jets games.

Painter is starting to play decently well. Also, the Colts have a soft schedule coming up: vs Cincy, and two games each against the Titans and Jaguars.

I think the Seahawks and Chiefs are going to be our biggest hurdles, with the Broncos as a dark horse.

Cards went down, so are the Panthers.

Dummies in AZ thinking Reid would give them a Qb.

I'd rather Luck go to the NFC if he doesn't go to the Dolphins.

Damn Colts...that pretty much takes KC out of the race though. They still have two games against Denver. Denver's another team to watch. AND the Bills beat the Eagles. If the Patriots win they fall two games behind the Bills and Pats.

Two things needed to happen for us: Seahawks and Vikings win. Two things we needed to happen that didn't: Colts didn't win and the Jaguars didn't win.

They're still plenty beatable. It's not like the Titans or Bengals are markedly better teams than the Colts, who actually have several advantages over them, like pass rush and receiving.

I disagree. KC has a better QB situation so they're more likely to pull off wins throughout the season.

I'm not saying they're not beatable. They're just not as soft as you make them out to be. They're two pretty tough teams.

As I make them out to be? I'm not saying they're the all-time worst teams ever, I'm saying the Colts can beat them. Where did I say that they're horrible teams? Well, maybe the Jags will qualify as horrible by the end of the season...

Well, right now, the teams with the miyasma of losing are finding ways to lose games, as the season rolls along some will shake it off, some won't, the Colts have gotten better, but still when Dallas Clark is dropping 4 passes, who knows when things will level out for them?

Polian will ensure the Colts secure Luck now that he sees Manning is a question mark.

Well, I count 4 very winnable games for Indy (Cincy, Carolina Jacksonville x2) and 6 if you include Tennessee x2.
I can barely get to 3 winnable games when I look at our schedule.

Well, if we dont have the #1 pick based on record....I am not confident we have the wherewithal or intellectual competency to actually put a package together to move up to #1.

I am far more confident if we are sitting at #2 or #3, that several other team would leapfrog us and trade up. It wouldnt shock me to see Miami bluff and figure they dont need to trade up, and figure no one will trade up only to be steamrolled and watch others jump ahead.

Of course the other option I could see...is for the first time ever, the Dolphins with the #1 pick, do not turn it in fast enough and the #2 team jumps ahead for the Commish to read the name Andrew Luck and #2 team gets him....LOL......epic.

I used the word soft, not horrible.

They are not soft teams. The Titans beat the Ravens, and the Bengals beat the Bills. For the Colts, they're anything but soft.

You're reading WAY too much into this.

I'm sure every NFL personnel evaluator will make his way to see a Stanford game given their prospects and/or the opponent they're playing to get an evaluation on people. It just so happens Elway was also a QB at Stanford. Elway probably has a better idea of Luck than anyone else at this point, being an alum and all, I'm sure he's tuned into his share of Cardinal games.

And I said soft schedule, not soft teams. Soft schedule means a schedule that has beatable teams on the slate. The Colts can absolutely beat the teams in question. I think they can sweep the Jags, split with the Titans, and beat the Bengals. They may also be able to pull out a win from a team no one expects them to beat, maybe the Texans in week 16.

Wasn't there a report from Gruden on MNF against the Bucs that he met with Manning and Peyton said he's hoping to play again at some point THIS year?

Even so, I think you're right Travis; the Colts are good enough to win a handful of games.

I have to agree with you. I only see the Dolphins winning 2-3 games this season. One of those victories I see is in two weeks against the Broncos. I think Elway is very willing to let his team have the worst record in the NFL this season, just so that they can get Luck in the draft. Being a former franchise QB in the NFL, Elway understands how important it is to have a franchise QB, if your team is going to be a legitimate contender in the NFL. Unfortunately I am not so sure that Ireland has ever understood this simple fact and that is why he has done absolutely nothing in his four years to upgrade the QB position.
