Sam Raimi Wants Morbius in Spider Man 4 Looks like it's possible that we'll see the vampire Morbius in the next Spidey installment. I was hoping for Rhino or the Lizard, but this could be interesting. I just hope they don't get ridiculous with the number of villains in the next one. Spidey 3 was muddled because of all the villains. There was no character development, and it made the movie really bland. It had some decent action, but they just tried to stuff way too much into the last one. One, maybe two villains, would be good. http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/01/09/sam-raimi-wants-morbius-in-spider-man-4/
I hated Emo Spider-Man, after loving the first two installments. I have read numerous reports that the studio demanded more characters, specifically Venom, in order to sell more toys. I think if it wasn't for studio pressure, it would have been Spider-Man / Sandman, a much simpler (and less confusing) story, with the New Goblin thrown in for good measure, though not with as central a role as he ended up having. On Spider-Man 4, let's hope that Raimi has recharged his batteries, because if it's anything like Spider-Man 3 I'll probably avoid it altogether.
I would have liked Kraven and the Lizard, two great bad guys. We've seen Conners already, you know it's coming.
Exactly... Why bother with the setup of Conners if you're not going down that road (which should of been the premise of SM3)? The writing was awful all around, period. Why they decided to go ahead with that script I'll never know. And Sam Raimi can stay away. He's way overrated.
Kraven would be the way to go. Why not touch on the storyline where Kraven "kills" Spidey? I can see it now..."Hey, that 'Twilight' thing is big now. Let's bring Morbius in and get all the teens who are into vampires to come see the movie!" GAH. Rhino would kick *** too. BUT...and I know we'll NEVER see this. I'd KILL for them to bring in the Sinister Six.
Rhino...wow...never even thought of that guy. Sinister six would be cool, but I think too many bad guys would cheese it up, can you imagine a 'war room' discussion on taking over the city?
Personally, I'd like a Kingpin story arc. I think tackling something like organized crime, in NEW YORK, of all places, would go along way towards grounding the series again, and more importantly, give us a break from the "everyone in Peter's circle is either a super hero or super villain or Aunt May. Plus it would be one more step in erasing the travesty of Daredevil.
There are so many better bad guys to have than Morbius. ~ Electro ~ The Scorpion ~ Kraven ~ The Vulture ~ Mysterio ~ The Jackal ~ The Rhino ~ Carnage Hell...I'd even like to see Hammerhead or Tombstone!
They could even touch on the storyline of "Punisher vs. Spiderman" Would that make a kick *** movie or what?
~ Electro: meh ~ The Scorpion: I could get behind that. I'd have preferred him to Sandman. ~ Kraven: I think that would translate well ~ The Vulture: I don't think a young man beating up a senior citizen would fly. ~ Mysterio: Never. Would not work in live action...at all...ever. ~ The Jackal: meh. ~ The Rhino: Yes, but he'd have to team up with some one, or they'd have to rework the character a bit. ~ Carnage: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They should have never done Venom either. Some characters are just better on pages and not on film.
Good points on all...but if you use the word "meh" again I may have to "El Kabong" you over the head with my bass. "Meh" is for 16 year old girls watching "Twilight" bro...
Sorry. Let me try again: ~ Electro: like no way ~ The Scorpion: I could get behind that. I'd have preferred him to Sandman. ~ Kraven: I think that would translate well ~ The Vulture: I don't think a young man beating up a senior citizen would fly. ~ Mysterio: Never. Would not work in live action...at all...ever. ~ The Jackal: like no way ~ The Rhino: Yes, but he'd have to team up with some one, or they'd have to rework the character a bit. ~ Carnage: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
