I swear, ref STANDING RIGHT THERE, and WITH REPLAY....

I swear to god, when that game ended, I felt the refs had money on this game and screwed us on purpose.

Too bad we didn't have that camera angle. I knew it was a TB and our ball.

Nah I don't think so because if that was the case then they would have put money on Miami the payout if Miami won would be greater than that of the Saints.

Sucks to dwell on **** like this :(

The ref is staring in the face.

Then combine the QUESTIONABLE and INCORRECT "Illegal Forward Pass" call, then they called a MYSTERIOUS "Illegal motion" penalty to prevent us from scoring a garbage touchdown and screwing with the spread... and then the BESS FUMBLE WHICH HE WAS CLEARLY DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BESS WAS DOWN, even the damn TV replays showed it..... my god we got HOSED

How in god's name we don't have a camera fixed on the goal-line or one of those cameras hovering above the field going across the goal-line is beyond me. Just unbelievable that these types of calls can't be reviewed properly.

I know Ginn messed up royally not catching the ball initially. But what a hell of a play getting up off the ground, running down Sharper, and forcing the fumble.

combined with the fact that the bad call at the end of the first half gave them a TD, this gave the Saints 14 points for FREE.

Even if the Saints went for it on 4th down and scored a TD on their final drive of the game instead of a FG, we get the ball back up by 4 instead of down by 6. And thats being generous. Since the Saints scored on every possession in the 4th quarter, I dont see how they could have dug themselves out of this game without the 14 points they were given by the refs.

    THANK YOU!!!

With the technology available today, that the NFL refuses to bring the game up-to-date is moronic.

Unless you are shooting video of his back I don't see what angle wouldn't reverse the call on the field.

what? of who's back? a camera aimed directly down the goalline would overturn this call.

what pisses me off is that the refs said prior to the review that the result of the review would either be a touchback or a touchdown. that right there tells you that they saw the ball go through the endzone and they just needed to see if he lost the ball prior to crossing the line. yet they still **** it up.

why does replay work so well in the NCAA? yet the refs continue to get tons of calls wrong in the NFL, even with replay.

The Bess fumble was BS as well.....

You can also subtract another 7 because if we don't get hosed for 14 points on these two bad calls, Henne isn't throwing it up for grabs in desperation on a 4th and 13 play.

    46 minus 21..

Hard to beat the best team in football and the freaking refs too

    Home field advantage my ***

Was this just a still, taken by an SI photographer, or a frame from an unreleased portion of replay video?

I personally think the bess fumble was a good call. Ball was coming loose before his knee was down. But this pisses me to no end. That's our ball, who knows how the rest of the game goes, maybe we still lose, who knows. But that's 7 points they shouldn't have gotten. WTF is that ref looking at?

NM. I see the credit in the lower left corner of the photo. Nauseating image.

Perhaps the ref was preoccupied with Fasano's snug fitting uni.

I'll say this about Ginn......that SOB is fast.

He was on his back when Sharper took off toward the end zone

The ball was clearly cupped in Bess' hand.....his arm was being pulled and both his hand and the ball were moving but you do not see the ball "loose" and juggling around.

    I don't think you understood.

I said that unless the camera was pointed directly at his back, ANY angle should have been able to overturn it.

Yeah the kid screwed up, but i knew he got back to cause that fumble. And i knew it was a fumble that the refs blew the call on. Should have been a touchback. That could have swung the momentum right back in our direction. Was some good Hustle, now he needs to concentrate on catching before running.

I could tell by the camera angle they showed during the game. Was obvious he wasn't in the endzone when the ball came out.

He had to have fumbled that ball at around the two yard line. How the **** could the ref who was STARING RIGHT AT IT not see that? Seriously? What the ****?

Sadly after a call is made a ref cannot overturn the call unless there is irrefutable video evidence.

Ala Denver vs San Diego of last year.

It was a bad call I think everyone knew it but **** happens :(

That was different. That was a call that could not be reviewed because of the call on the field. This is a call that could have been overturned. In both cases they should have gotten it right in the first place because it was so obvious. I mean, what the hell was that ref looking at, each player's package? :pity:

The disgusting pile of excrement masquerading as an NFL official #107 is Line Judge Ron Marinucci. He should be pumping gas or working as a Wal Mart greeter, not screwing up NFL games. To miss such an obvious fumble that close to him indicates he's senile or blind of a combination of both.

Man the NFL needs to investigate that crew of ref's. Way too many blown calls going against us.

Did anyone else notice that the ref standing right by the play on that "illegal forward pass" threw his little blue fumble marker then 3 seconds later a flag gets thrown from down field. That means the ref who threw the flag didn't even have a good angle to see if the ball travels forward, and the line judge ,who clearly sees that the ball travels parallel to the LOS, doesn't over turn the ref that threw the penalty flag. If I'm not mistaken we didn't have any callenges left. Me thinks if we still had a red flag, that penalty flag isn't thrown.

Exactly. Its not like the NFL just discovered that these goal line plays are often missed due to poor or non existent camera angles. It really should not be that hard to have dedicated wide angle cameras installed at both ends of the goal line. Between baseball and football they just love getting the calls wrong.

we were good enough to beat the jets and the refs. the saints were too good to overcome both. this seriously makes me ill too. wtf is it the refs have against us, at our own stadium no less? this is a joke.

i remember watching that replay. and as they said "no indisputable evidence"...maybe it didnt show when exactly the ball was coming out, but the one angle did show the ball out and about a yard away from sharper as he was crossing. i mean, its common sense. simple physics. if he's crossing, as the ball is shooting several feet away from him...WTF !
