Wow Pryor looked AWFUL throwing the ball. Good in space but man he looked bad overall. No touch, no zip, doesn't always step in his throws. What has he been doing?
Davon House looked damn good for Green Bay. LaRon Byrd made a couple nice catches. Kendall Wright played well. Bill Bentley was impressive in Detroit's zone scheme. Jarrett Lee was solid. As was Travis Benjamin and Alshon Jeffery. Quinton Coples was a beast. Vick Ballard. Cleveland's 2nd rounder, Josh Gordon, looked bad -- too slow out of breaks. Really good route runner. Big fan of his. Ingram played really well, and it was interesting to see how they used him. Moved him around a lot, basically like a LEO. Dropped him in space on a handful of snaps and he looked good, even if it was a lot of Curl-Flat expansion from Cover 3. Interesting thought. There was one throw where I felt his arm was fine; it was a throw in to the Field side to Demaryius Thomas, I believe. Threw a laser. Ha, I thought so too. Janoris Jenkins almost had that. Jenkins played well. What was impressive on Luck's behalf, besides the poise, was the throw to Collie on the Shakes concept. Stared down the seam route before throwing it deep right to Collie on the corner. I thought he played well. He had issues, no doubt, but made typical rookie mistakes.
Yeah College was a bit forgiving as you don't have to deal with NFL talent weekly but I thought for sure he would have grown as a QB but he looks like his junior year of Ohio St. I can see why he is 3rd on the depth chart.
