I do not think a competitor to Madden is remotely plausible. The uniform thing doesn't really bother me. The problems I see with the game is the fact that the way he could be amazing is if it is very realistic. In that build there were problems with the way the players actually played the game. Like running backs going smaller and not running between tackles, wide receivers not being aggresive and the quarterback throwing only being calculated by his arm throwing motion. Also the way it sounded was a bunch of soccer fans making a football game. It is a first time and football is complicated. Maybe the tackling will be enough to sell the game.
The promise of the Euphoria engine in a Sports game has me drooling though...lets hope to see more of that in some newer titles....
While it looks like it could be interesting with the physics based engine and all, visually it doesnt impress me much. Sure its hard to tell from youtube sized trailers... but the graphics don't look that impressive, neither do the player models. However, that said... the way the players move, and hit, and get hit, does look pretty nice. I have a hard time believing though that you'll never see the same tackle animation twice. That and... I dont know if this is something I'll buy. Playing a game without the NFL license will be awfully tough for me. It just wont be the same.
