I have been very fortunate to see much of Anquan since being drafted by the red-birds. Would absolutely love to see him in Orange and Aqua, but a 1st and a 3rd is just too darn high.

A 2nd or perhaps 2nd and 6th would be well worth it IMO, but no way the 1st and 3rd.

I saw every one of those games.

What's crazy is that Eric's team got the better of them!

Boldin was a monster at QB (also played safety....Pahokee played an 8-man front which meant Boldin was a center fielder). Was the starter the moment he entered 9th grade. Dude had a CANNON as a 13-year old. And he was like Mike Vick as far as far as elusiveness and danger outside the pocket. He finished as Florida's all time leader in total yardage (I think that has since been broken).

Eric was a really good WR and DB (obviously) but had to move to QB senior year. He threw for more yards than any QB in school history that year playing both ways.

As far as "wow" prep athletes, Eric wasn't that. Just a really, really good football player and athlete that could find a way to get it done. A leader. Really well coached in HS and college. And he played a lot as a freshman at VT.

Who knows what would have happened to Boldin had he not torn his ACL at FSU. Obviously his calling is WR. But maybe it doesn't happen until the pros?

I would even give our 2nd, but not a 1st. We need those to keep building this team.

I'd trade the 1st and 3rd for Fitzy, but not for Boldin, much as he'd be quite an asset to us, but I don't see the Trio giving up that much for Boldin, considering they'd have to then sign him to huge contract...makes no sense...

Not a huge fan of Boldin. Hes turning out to be a bit primadonnery for me. He took a huge hit and hasnt really seemed the same (see Chambers, Chris for something similar), and hes always struggled against top CBs.

As for all this "there will be nobody better at 25, 44 or anywhere" crap, tell me where, exactly, Boldin was drafted. Was he the first overall pick? Umm, no. There could be a player much better at any of those spots. There may not be. We dont know.

Or near entire drafts can be flame outs. IE: Dolphins drafts from 2000-2003.

I'd give up our first round pick (being it's rather late) but there's no way I'd give up our first and third for Boldin.

I'd give up my left nut to get this guy. Giving up a late first round draft choice is no big deal IMO. That first round draft choice is going to command alot of money for being an unproven player. Why not pay a guy who has proven that he can be a stud at WR?

that's the thing I love about AQ. There's maybe one other guy in the league who couldve come back from that hit he took, and to come back and not be hesitent to take another hit is what makes it even more impressive IMO.

If this happens... You can notch up a intimidation point to us! We'd put a little fear in the hearts of the AFC East if we get Boldin. Although that is a high price I'd pay it if he passes a good physical!

I am not for it, but would not set my jerseys on fire if it did. To me it would be the preverbal two edge sword, we get a great WR, and on the other hand we lost the chance to draft 2 future players. I would give up a 2nd for him NP, better yet a 3rd.

Plus, just how close are we to winning the Super Bowl. Everyone always wants to be safe and not say it, but we showed last year that all that goes out the window with this group of coaches and players. We won our division, and competed with the best pretty well last year. We have the OL. We have the QB. We have the RB's. We have the TE. WR is the only thing left on the Offensive side of the ball that could downgrade us as a serious contender. I'd much rather go with the young proven player in this case and take Boldin. We draft a CB 2a and a LB 2b, NT round 3 or something along those lines and watch out folks!

Don't tell me we can't win the Super Bowl because after what I saw last year this team can win it all. We aren't that far away. It's my hope that we don't ignore the few need spots that we have that could keep us from advancing farther this year.

Good point... Two thumpers back in the middle of the field should remedy that! I hope they both get a shot or two in on TO and Moss! Wilson and Bell that is...

I highly doubt it. No way Parcells & co. give up that much. That would go against everything they've been doing. We have a lot of other holes to fill on this team and giving up a 1st and a 3rd would make doing that impossible and it would cripple our future. Rick Spielman and Pornstache are not here anymore, thank God! ;)

eh, no thanks for what it's going to take in picks and dollars (he wants the 8-9-10 million dollar a year range, he feels slighted by how much Fitz is making). He is 29 years old, look at Torry Holt who is about to get cut at 32 and can be had for no picks.. we're building through youth, so when Henne is ready to take over, Boldin will be 30, 31 years old?

It's a sexy addition, but think of it this way: last year the 25th pick of the draft got a contract that totaled $9.725 million for the entire duration, with 6.75 guaranteed.

When have the Eagles ever given up the house for a player? They usually fleece other teams, not the other way around.

They gave us AJ Feeley for a 2nd rounder and now he is back on their team.

Last year they were in negotiations with Arizona for Boldin. They offered Lito Sheppard and a pick and Arizona wanted more and they said no thanks.

They could have signed Houshmandzadeh but didnt want to pay him. They tried to sign Randy Moss but he resigned with the Pats. They made an offer for Roy Williams but Detroit wanted more.

Philly will trade for him if the price is right, but they definately wont offer the house. Andy Reid loves his draft picks.

I would really like to see him here, but the value from draft picks our FO gets i think a first and third would be too steep a price to pay.

Yes we wasted many draft picks on guys who didn't work out in past years, but so far the new FO is 1/1 in drafting so far.

I'm certain they will find quality starters for us with this draft as well.

Oh well, whatever they do, i guess i'd support it, they have yet to prove me wrong since they got here, outside of a couple of minor mistakes (ie: wilford, Mccown).

What i find even more hard to believe is that they would give up a 1st and 3rd for a star WR. I have a hard time believing that right now, since they hold so much value in picks and they know what they can do with picks. They usually seem very smart with how they handle picks, they would have to think the world of Anquan to give up that ransom for him.

Prescedence might take place here, the last top reciever trade got a first and 6th? Roy williams to Dallas? I have a hard time believing the new top reciever potential trade would be that much more in terms of value.

There is no way at this time can anyone say anybody we sign at #25 is not going to be as good as Bolden, especially considering Bolden himself was taken in the 2nd round of the 2003 draft. He was taken midway in the second round with the 22nd pick of that round or the 54th pick overall.
Bolden is a great receiver but theres no way we should give up more than one pick for him especially considering this way of thinking got us to a 1-15 season and all the frustrations that went with it. This team is being built to be consistantly competetive with a young core of players that will grow together, not with a win now attitude at the expense of an influx of young players to keep the team stocked with players who can also grow with the team.
They may make the trade for Bolden but I hope not considering the cost and the hit on the salary cap. This group has shown they can find talented players in the later rounds so there is no telling who we would be giving up for the Bolden trade but this is JMO.

    Miami interested in Boldin?

There's a few sources saying that Miami is interested in Boldin. It's been talked about on a radio show, a Cardinals blog, and a couple of dolphins sites have either written about it or put up on a poll. Where's there's smoke, there's fire. A Cardinals blogger is boldly stating that a deal will be done by the end of the week. Will it happen? who knows! Do i want it to happen? Yes but not if it means giving up more than one draft pick. I'll give a 2nd round pick and a player. Or maybe even a 2nd round pick and a pick next year.

Boldin is most likely going to cost a 1st PLUS something..They'd be foolish to accept less.
Don't get me wrong - I would love to have him here. But this is an elite WR in his prime. It would b costly
