Dolphins second-year fullback Reagan Mauia, known best for referring to himself as a juggernaut after running through a wall, stands accused of punching out a Carolina Ale House patron in a parking lot... in Weston, of all peaceful, single-family places.

Mauia is apparently claiming it's a case of mistaken identity.

He's innocent until proven guilty.

But if he's guilty, what do you do with him?

This is a regime that has declared that it won't tolerate "thugs and hoodlums."

Those proclamations always strike me as silly, because teams rarely enforced a zero-tolerance policy. If a player is important enough, any infraction can be spun.

This player isn't all that important. He was a starter, sure, but fullback isn't a premium position, and he still hasn't proven much beyond what we saw on YouTube.

Here's my problem with the whole story. As far as we know, apparenly Reagan Mauia decided to punch some random guy out in a parking lot. No reason behind it whatsoever. This story's fishy to me.

well hopefully this version of the story really is what happened. Its still unacceptable to go around knockin people out, but maybe the team/league would go easier on him looking at the whole situation. Hopefully the truth does come out in the end on this one...

 

While he didn't exactly handle the situation in the best way possible (if that is what happened), I can't really see the league/team getting on him too much considering the circumstances.

 

I hope we keep him
