When teams figure out he's just a decoy and he drops almost every pass that does go his way I think that's worse than most anything else we can do.
i cant believe some one in here wanting to blame this game on the defense and let ginn slide. the defense did great. the 1st half defense was more then we could have asked for. everyone knew: who we were facing. what they did to previous opponents and the state of our defense. i think we got more out of that game from our D then you can ask for. especially the 1st half. however, in the 2nd half we had NO offense. we couldnt keep the ball or put up enough points. we failed to keep the ball out of Brees' hand. we knew the consequences of those circumstances. and the results are just what was expected by EVERYONE. it also hurt that we lost our starting, veteran cornerback in the 3rd 1/4 when we still had the lead. i think we only had 17 rushing yards in the 2nd half. the number one rushing team only had 17 yards in the 2nd half. we had a 14 point lead and stopped controlling the clock. ricky williams had over 72 all by himself before the half. this loss is not all on ted ginn. a lot of it is on the entire coaching staff. poor decisions hurt us as well as mistakes. but ginn did have some BIG drops yesterday. game changing drops. if he played better we would have won that game. he also dropped 2. i said TWO touchdown passes against the colts. that game is almost completely ginns fault. you know who should be upset. memebers of the 72 team. we had the chance to stop 2 undefeated teams this season. we had both teams on the ropes. if ted ginn drops one less ball in either of those games, we would have beaten them both we would be 4-2. 2-0 in the division and the ONLY team to beat two of the best performing teams to this point. not just two of the best. arguably THE two best. maybe that argument would exist if we had beaten them though.
This regime is obviously through with Ginn and his family. I just wish they would have traded him a week ago. They know they made that mistake.
As much as I agree with this, is this what we're always going to expect from him? Is he going to have to be babied forever and that one game that he fails at might be the one that brings the old TGJ back? I mean I honestly really want him to succeed. But I think what would be better for him is to give him confidence on the kick return unit, bring him into some more trick players in the WC. That one reverse he ran one week that picked up like 30 yards was awesome. I just don't think he has what it takes to be an NFL receiver, and definitely not the #1 guy. I think they need to find what he's good at. I don't think he's a lost cause yet.
true, I was just trying to point out how poorly he has performed other then that one game. BTW, there are a lot of ppl here saying that hartline is too slow (which he may be) but I would like to point out that Hartline's longest reception is longer then Ginn's longest reception (67 to 64).
I think Hartline has the Hands and route running to be a Number 1, if only he didn’t lack the speed. To bad we can't mix Ginn and Hartline to give us a true #1. Ginline Jr lol. I do feel at this point, we should bring Turner into the mix so we can see what he has to offer. I by no means think the season is over, just that the change can't be any worse.
