Um, wow. Didn't think a movie would enter my top 5 any time soon, but... 1. The Dark Knight 2. Apocalypto 3. The Godfather 4. The Matrix 5. City Of God / Do The Right Thing I am completely blown away. Can't even write up a summary. R.I.P. HEATH LEDGER!
Sounds like this one could be the "boys" version of Titanic. Girls went to see that one 3 or 4, some even 5 times. This one could be worth seeing a 2nd time.
Lol, yeah. Probably. I'm going to watch Batman Begins on Blu today, then go see it again tonight. I can't wait for The Dark Knight to hit Blu-Ray. Too bad they take forever to release.....(probably November-December)
They had some clown on the news last night talking about how this movie would give kids nightmares for the rest of their lives.
lol arggg I want to see it and im busy this weekends grr...... I knew from the first clip I seen of ledger that he was going to make an amazing joker. Glad I wasn't proven wrong.
Right there with ya bro. Got my daughters b-day party, plus got to work so..no Batman for me this weekend. I could go watch it Sunday night at the drive-in, but this looks like a film that would be hard to see at the drive-in. Some of the darker movies blend in with the screens.
Maybe you should have thought this through and bought tickets online and or got there 2 hours early Seeing it either at 11, or 12.
Well, I live in a small rural town of 9,000 and was getting ready to go see the movie but called just before I left to see what time to be there for the different things they had going on. Get this, the midnight showing is TONIGHT, they didnt know if they would have the movie in time for last night so they didnt schedule it until tonight. The marquee out front says special midnight showing so I was pumped, just to be let down. I'm goin with my 16 year old daughter because my wife hates movies like these but my daughter likes them. BUT she doesnt want to miss out on any of her "goin out" time so I have to wait till midnight tonight.
I kinda understand, she is leaving saturday to go to 2 different soccer camps and will be gone for week. Heading over to Terre Haute and ISU first.
Well I gotta work today from 12-8 and then tomorrow same time, sunday 10-6. Id rather watch it at matinee time because at night its going to be super crowded. I might just have to wait until monday, my next day off.
Omg this ****ing movie is fantastic! Ledger absolutely nails it! I only have 1 small complaint, and thats the ending. I didnt like the way it ended but maybe ill change my mind when i see it again tonight.
If this movie is surpassing The Godfather on a list I'm gonna need to bring a towel and cigarette. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Can't wait for tonight.
I live in a small suburb of charlotte called 'gastonia nc' the movie theatre here sold 900 tickets at midnight last night..... so I bought tickets in advance tonight for the 1020 movie....the lady told me to be there at 915!!!!!!! god I can't wait for this movie!!!!!
The only true disappointment, IMO, is replacing Katie Holmes with Maggie Gylenhaal. Katie Holmes wasn't great, but at least she isn't completely ugly. Maggie was garbage and ugly.
I really honestly don't think I want to know what she looks like naked. Ok, if I were to happen to see her naked, I guess I'd rethink my position, but damn I think she is fugly.
Hmmm, I woudlnt call Maggie Gylenhaal the hottest chick on the planet, but I always thought she was pretty decent looking. I wouldnt be ashamed if people knew she was gettin "hardcore with hardkore" and I def wouldnt call her fugly
She's average at best (body), but Maggie did a poor acting job, IMO. Luckily it didn't hurt the film at all. Character is irrelevant to me.
Nah i just have higher standards. I wanted to bust out laughing during the part of the movie where joker says "well hello, beautiful".
I don't think she is ugly. I don't think she is great looking either. I like her voice. And being realistic, how many hot assistant DAs do you know?
Worth seeing in IMAX even if my neck is horribly sore from sitting in the 1st row. Definitely very dark and caused a lot of kids to flat out cry in the theater. Agreed. Only reason I "accepted" Maggie in the role was because people kept yapping about how great an actress she is. She was just pedestrian acting-wise here and she still looks like the middle-aged local librarian that likes to shush quiet people because her hearing aid is on full power. I have expected her to ask the other characters to shush. If you ask me, they should've gotten Jennifer Connelly, but that's just personal preference. If you thought Gyllenhaal was hot, there's a 50 year old librarian who's still single waiting for your call. I was disappointed until Spoiler she got blown up . Honestly, if you put white paint and red lipstick on her face, she'd make a good Joker. Maybe they should do that for the next film.
