RB Anthony Kimble, ILB Orion Martin, OLB Tearrius George, DT Joe Cohen, and WR Chris Williams, TE Ernest Wilford. According to Omar's tweet
I saw Chris Williams coming he did not do to goot of a job agiant the Panthers. The Ernest Wilford rollercoaster ride is finially over.
Chris Williams Waived http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-miami-dolphins-chris-williams-082409,0,6759655.story I'm glad to see it I think the guy would have left us in feast or famine mode and would have been a liability. If you can't field a punt at this stage in the game you're not going to make a roster.
I kind of hate to see this for the young mans sake. Having a ball bounce off your facemask is just embarrasing. But someone else will probably give him a shot. I hope so at least.
It was much more than that one ball bouncing off his facemask, though. Just about every ball that he caught he bobbled a little bit before securing it. He's got great speed and quickness, but he's not sure handed. Also he's evidently got an injury. He may well pass through waivers. In which case he could end up on our PS. If he can get his issues worked out he could be a really good returner. Maybe he just needs to work on his confidence and focus....don't know.
Speaking of division rivals, I'm thinking that at least one of those LBs gets a hard look from the Pats. Probably George. Their pass rush is very much in need. I wouldn't be surprised if both of them were brought into the Pats camp. In fact, they'll both probably be courted by KC as well. I think last year KC had the weakest pass rush in the entire NFL.
I have a gut feeling waiving Williams could come back to bite us in the ***. I just hope no one claims him off waivers. If he gets his hands under control, he could be a very, very dangerous returner.
With what this front office has been doing most of those players will get a second look, unlike in years past when Miami castoffs were pure fodder. What is it they say, one teams trash is another teams treasure. The next round of cuts will be very interesting.
They waived Chris Williams due to him breaking his hand in the game vs. the Panthers. http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...wide-receiver-chris-williams-has-broken-hand/
The Panthers should not only cut their kick returners but they should fire everyone remotely involved in special teams. They sucked!
Now I understand the "look" in the photo better. Thats sad hopfully they put him on the PS and he gets another chance!
I mentioned that in another thread ZOD. Obviusly Williams had his issues out there (No wonder with a broken hand) but he didn't look as bad as any of the Panthers returners
Wow...it's not even cut down day and we are already whacking guys, and making trades, I still think DMart and Rod Wright get dealt.
From what the Dolphins said, it was on his very first return... I think he went for about 7 yards, and the tackler's helmet went right into his hand and broke it. He played with a broken hand for the rest of the half... including his last return, at the end of the first half, which is the one he fumbled.
Well, my gut told me we had a trade brewing with KC, but I thought it was going to be Dmart and Greg C to KC, not Alleman and Ike. Rod Wright is a 4-3 player, the Giants are losing guys two at a time, Alford and Canty are both out, Wright would fit in their scheme.
All those cuts make perfect sense to me, and I do hope Williams makes it through waivers and onto the PS. With a year on the PS he could be deadly in the return game next year if he learns how to catch the ball.
