well i know that, but is it guaranteed were playing in Tennessee? wouldn't that be determined later when the schedules are worked out?
No, the game is in Tennessee. If you go to the official Dolphins website, you can look under schedules and then future schedules and see for yourself. This was part of a 8 year schedule plan worked out in 2001 and began in 2002 when Houston came into the league. 2009 will be the final year of this plan and the owners will decide about 2010 and beyond.
You prefaced the counter-argument with "spare me the..." I read that to mean, don't argue my point with the following counterpoint. You dismissed the counter-argument with requesting that people "spare" you with it. If I'm wrong, that's okay. My mistake. If you already knew its too early to see how our hard our schedule is gonna be, then why start the thread? And why get sarcastic and call me a genius?
Is there a reason why this post is dripping with the attitude it is? There are plenty of places where that stuff is accepted - here isn't one of them. C'mon man no one has done anything to antagonize you, and the underhanded comments truly aren't necessary. This subject has been broached before as it is pretty easy to predict the divisions we'll play as they rotate, and our record this year will dictate who we play. Most could have predicted the teams within reason, just the dates and wheres would really be in question.
Great to see next seasons schedule, but I am only worried about this year for now, and I really want to win the AFC East for a change. The opportunity is there, lets not let it slip away.... d-1
2009 Opponents released http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/nfl/12/29/09-opponents.ap/index.html This is looking UGLY! The only team we play that went less that .500 this year is Buffalo (edit: and the Jags)
Yeesh ... Tennessee, San Diego, Atlanta, and Carolina ... all playoff teams, and all away. We also get Indianapolis and Pittsburgh at home, 2 more playoff teams. Jacksonville, Houston, New Orleans, and Tampa Bay are all teams that are playoff caliber. Could be a rough season. We will get tested, that's for sure.
Brutal 6 current playoff teams plus the division schedule. Still doesn't change the recipe we have established for success. Coach em up, work hard ALL YEAR LONG, play aggressive fundamently sound football, don't give up the ball, and never quit. Also...... Coming to Tennesee, finally get to go to a Phins game live!!!!!!!
Ding, ding, ding!!! We have a winner! The NFL is way too crazy to predict what games are going to be tough.
I have a friend who is a Charger fan who may have his RV there so we can tailgate, and have a great time.
Yes, it's ugly. And next year when everyone is prognisticating on the Jags and their inability to win, it will signify one fact. They all forgot that the Jaguars have been playing with five backups on the offensive line since game 2. In 2009, the Jags should be back to their 2007 playoff form.
I guess I will have to take that 2 1/2 hr trip to Nashville for my first ever NFL game. sweet! Where I am I have the Colts 2 hrs away, The Bungles 2 hrs away and that Titans about 2 1/2. The Rams are about 4-5 hrs away.
I'm still so pumped about yesterday!! I've smoked 4 cigars already, ordered my AFC East CHAMPIONS T-shirts and hat. Nothing is better than Beating the Jest and winning the division in THEIR, I mean Giants stadium.
I honestly feel that if we make the playoffs with that schedule than we are a VERY dangerous team. But lets look at now, who knows what can happen. The ravens are a very good team and are very tough. But if we play hard than i think we can win this one.
Finally a Sunday and/or Monday nighter at Dolphin Stadium! That's all this means to me. I'm definitely driving up to Jacksonville for that game.
Looks like i'll driving to San Diego from Oakland...Woohooo Maybe we can have a west coast dolphan tailgate party!!! Oh it's got to be a positive that we play both tampa bay and Jax and get to stay in florida.
Still early to say, but I will give my opinion on what direction I see these teams going next season.. Home: Buffalo - Regressing - Particularly if they keep Jauron, the Phins can outcouch them. New England - Even - Will remain at current competitive status considering Brady's rehab, Cassel loss. N.Y. Jets - Regressing - Rebuilding year in search of answer at QB. Could be tough if Cowher lands there. Houston - Improving - Seems like we say this every year about this team, but I think they are a playoff team next season. Plus, they always have our number Indianapolis - Regressing - Still have Manning, so it wont be too much of a setback, but I think the coaching change will make them regress just a tad. Pittsburgh - Improving - I think they get even better in Tomlin's 3rd year. New Orleans - Improving - They should get back on track next season. With Brees, they are always in it. Tampa Bay - Regressing - Kiffin took the defense with him. Away: Jacksonville - Regressing - Garrard was a one hit wonder. Tennessee - Regressing - They have a Vince Young problem. Still, excellent coaching so will always be tough. San Diego - Even - Will remain a .500 team under the coaching of Norv Turner Atlanta - Regressing - A bit of a sophomore slump for Matt Ryan Carolina - Regressing - Jake Delhomme's wheels are about to fall off.
Tough looking schedule but it doesn't look like we have to play at many cold weather sites except maybe in our division (At Buffalo, Jets and Pats). I would think we would only have one December away game in our division, but you never know?
We will be much improved next year, If there is anything we've learned from Sparano is that he will have his team ready to take any team, any time, any place. Terell Owens, Dick Vermeil and Brett Favre wll all beg to differ
sure it does, do you think Pittsburg is going to suck next year? Hardly, Tennessee? Its going to be very tough on the entire AFC East next year... We need to win our division games its going to be a 9-7 seed winner net year.
