In Flanders Fields by John McCrae In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
To those who have served; I salute you. To those who have fallen; The nation is indebted to you for your sacrifice. To those who have lost sons or daughters; Words can do little to ease your loss but know that your loved one is and will forever be honored for the price they paid to defend what our nation stands for. http://youtube.com/watch?v=IzA3t5tn97U
Nice post, Celtkin. Nothing like goosebumps first thing in the morning. May God bless all of our service men and women, because they are all heroes in my book. It is too bad I could not put two thanks to your post. Well done.
To all the great men and women who have proudly served our country, and to those that have given there lives up for freedom, we salute each and every one of you on this day. May you rest in peace.
I was gonna start a thread, but I am glad Mal beat me to it. No way I could've topped that entrance. May God stand by those who's selflessness and vigilance help protect me and my family. For those that have served and parished, I hope to meet up with you in Heaven one day. ..and of course, to all my sisteren and brotheren in this slice of Cyber-heaven, please be safe and enjoy this Memorial Day
Wonderful Mal. My thoughts and prayers are with all our fallen heros and the families that love them.
Happy Memorial Day, guys. Good to see that the people who kicked my ancestors in the butt for following that Austrian lunatic aren't forgotten. Rest assured that even their former enemies are grateful for what they did.
I was watching a documentary on aircraft carrier life last night and it hit me again how much I appreciate all those who serve. Some of the absolute best people this country has IMO.
God bless all those who serve in your country. It is without a doubt because of them that many of the rights and freedoms enjoyed here in Canada, and all around the world are a result of the dedication of many Americans.
I made a trip to Starbucks this AM..and on the way back I went by the small park in my neighborhood...PURPLE HEART PARK it is... They had a HUGE Memorial on-going. I started with Goose-bumps and ended with watery eyes in passing by, seeing many "Older" veterans in different "Era's" of uniform. Very very touching Also, living a short distance from Davis-Monthan AFB, there have been SEVERAL fly-overs. Mostly F-18s, 4 and 6 at at tme. Always low and always in perfect formation. God-bless.
to all who currently serve, to those who have served in the past, and to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in military service to this country and their fellow Americans, you all have my humble and heartfelt gratitude. i am grateful that my children sleep at peace at night under your protection.
i couldn't put it in words how grateful i am of past and present Americans that fought and sacrificed their life's so i can have the freedom to even post.
