Edge Rusher won't there at 22. Tackles, DE's and QB's are premier. So Miami must address someone to set the edge and compliment Wake on the other side. I do hope they find funds to re-sign Branch because that is a good rotation.

So it makes sense to make a splash at DE

I think melvin will be overpriced and is undersized to play DE for us. We need two new starting linebackers and two more quality DEs, to go along with two new starting guards. Wasting all our money on ingram I dont think makes sense. A guy like pierre paul will come cheaper and leave us enough money to also sign a quality MLB, DT and Guard.

Are we paying JPP by the finger?

I don't think you can spend big money on Melvin Ingram on this defense because he isn't physical enough vs. the TE.

A key part of this defense is a DE lining up at a 9-technique and being able to decisively beat a TE in the run game to the degree it kills outside runs. Can you line up Melvin Ingram and expect him to go toe to toe with Gronk?

I guess I could be mistaken but I thought one of Ingrams strengths was covering the TE.
    Am I wrong?

For the record, I am more in favor of JPP in this D.

The issue is not him covering tight ends, the problem is him setting the edge against the run, he is small for DE and does not fit our defense very well. JPP is alot better suited for our scheme and will also be cheaper.

I don't want to spend a ton of money on Ingram and then change his position, too expensive to tinker with imo, I wouldn't want to take the chance that he's not as productive as a DE.

Actually a pretty deep draft for edge rushers.

Shore up LB add depth at CB

I would have been a bigger fan of JPP as well, but now he costs 2 1st round picks. I really like Melvin Ingram as well, but just as a 3-4 rusher.
