I thought he did a pretty good job today. There was the one sack... I dont think it was the strip sack, but the other one where Tanny got rocked by an unblocked man where it looked like there was some miscommunication and McKinnie shoulda fanned out to pick up the blitzer, but stayed inside and gave up the sack. Martin was pretty good over on the right side too from what it appeared. Still nothing special in the way of protection, but better than what we were used to I thought.
They played fine against their match-ups. The line as a whole was good but their preparation for blitzes is such crap.
Well, if a DB shows blitz isn't it the responsibility to change up the protection on the QB? Or at least realize it's going to be a hot play?
You know what concerns me more than anything? There were a few times where Tannehill was given a clean pocket and plenty of time and he was seeing ghosts. It seemed to be in his head a bit because he was expecting to be hit when no one was near him. Which was something a lot of us feared would happen as the season went on. He's been sacked so much that even when he has time he's a little skittish.
If you had been hit as often as he has this season, you would be seeing ghosts too. He may be a tough QB, but no one can stand back in the pocket and take as many hits as he has this year and not be affected by all those hits. If thiskeeps up, he will be the next David Carr of the NFL.
If you replay the play where #26 sacked Tanne and caused the fumble on DVR. Right before the play I swear to God Pouncy points at him and says watch 26. Nobody did I guess.
Turner needs to be summarily dismissed. Blitzes routinely work more effectively than they should with our Line seeming unprepared to deal with them. Poor blitz preparation, Very poor adjustments on the fly during the game. I feel like the OL are coaching each other. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
They watched him sack Tannehill. Perhaps that is what everyone else on the line thought Pouncey was telling them before it happened. Because they obviously didn't think he was telling someone to block #26.
Obviously they are doing as poor a job coaching themselves as the offensive line coach is doing his job in preparing this OL to handle situations as they arise in a game. Philbin is suppose to be an excellent OL coach, but he obviously has no idea how to select a qualified coach for this position. This entire offensive coaching staff needs to be replaced after this season is over.
Bryant McKinnie might have missed some assignments, but that's to be expected since he just joined the team a few days ago. He probably hasn't even unpacked his luggage yet, and is still cramming the playbook into his head. What was encouraging was that he was never beat 1-on-1. When he locked on a guy, he shut that guy down.
I want Turner gone and I want someone new at QB's coach to help bring Tanny to that next level. I do not want to leave that in the hands of his college coach/OC's son in law.
I thought he did well considering he only joined the team like⦠5 days ago. Now the right side was getting blown up the entire game.
Hire Hue Jackson as your OC. You offense will eat thunder and crap lightening. I am his biggest fan. A true genius of the game. Check him out. Just a position coach in Cincinnatti. Love for him to be hired away from the Bengals so my Ravens will have a better chance to win the AFC North.
