    Canseco has never been wrong.

Say what you want about him or his intentions, but the guy is accurate and right.

McGwire only came clean so he could clean up his image and go back to MLB as a hitting coach for STL.

Both. Clearly it was his intentions to make money because he felt he was unfairly blackballed by the MLB. But sadly without him Congress wouldn't have stepped in to force drug testing.

The 1998 season and subsequent home run chase almost singlehandedly got me interested in baseball for the first time since the player's strike of 1993. Sad to see that both Sosa and Big Mac were users ... looking back it's hard to appreciate it the same way when you see how it's been so clearly abused by players and teams in the last 20 years.

In a statement sent to The Associated Press on Monday, Mark McGwire admitted to using steroids on and off for nearly a decade.

He went on to take a page from Andy Pettitte's book by saying he used performance enhancers to recover from injury and to get back on the field. McGwire, now 46 years old, was hired as the Cardinals' hitting coach earlier this offseason.

Here's the rub though,he has a backdoor out,Andro,is now technically listed as a Steroid, everyone knew he used Andro, but back when he was playing it wasnt listed as such.
But if we go back and open up our handy dandy baseball almanacs, and check the stats for 95/96 it becomes more than apparent it wasnt just Big Red who was juicing,I mean Kevin Elster of all people jacked 24 out of the park,Benito Santiago got 34,Brady Anderson hit flipping 50.
And did ya ever notice how guys would stink on ice right before they got to Oakland?Dave Stewart,Dennis Eckersley,Bob Welch,etc..... You know where Jose"I used steroids and showed teamates how to use them"Canseco played
