The two-man QB rotation likely won’t change as coaches look to bring Pennington up to speed and develop Henne as quickly as possible.

Coach Tony Sparano said he hasn’t decided how he’ll use his QBs during Saturday’s pre-season game at Jacksonville. It’s hard to McCown and Beck will get more than a series, if that.

My guess id CP plays into the second qtr then Henne. Maybe Beck and McCown do part of the 3rd and the 4th.

Pennington the entire first qtr, Henne the second quater, Beck or Josh the third and forth..

I think for game 3 Pennington gets a Half and Henned does the third

I think within the next week we need to cut one of the QB's lose and move on.. We need to give reps to those we need. Josh seems like the obvious choice to let lose as beck is still young and might be a good possible backup in 2 years to henne. I really think Becks role in the NFL will be a smart decent backup. He to old for rookie Qb's and the time investment needed to fine tune him will make him one of the older actively playing QB's...

Sadly for Beck I admire his decision to choice faith over football as a man, but in this game time is your enemy and I also believe his "mochismo" does not mix well with the new front office.. They wan't a hard ass in your face this is my show attitude and John Beck just can't be that man...

I do see Philly having interest in him. Knowing Andy Reids faith choices for players, his style of offense and with Mcnabb getting longer in the tooth. Even though they have a young QB as well they might be a partner for beck..

Josh is Josh you know what your getting.. a decent backup quality QB.. He's not starter material!

maybe it's the one who has the most trade value that ends up going?

We should make an offer for Chad Johnson. We need more Chad.

Based on Henne’s struggles on Tuesday, including a 1-of-8 stretch during 11-on-11, McCown had a better day.

Henne's struggling too!

OMG!

The smartest thing to do is cut both these busts, keep 7 season failure McCown and bring in Quincy Carter another QB with nothing to offer our future!

I mean if these guys are taking the lazy approach to developing talent why bother keeping youth.

I can't remember being this irate over a situation since hearing Dave Wannstedt say they wouldn't consider bringing in Trent Green in 2002 (I think it was then) because he "can't do anything Jay can't".

ck had a great comment in one of the practice threads after reading that Pennington threw a checkdown pass.

Oh my god! Pennington checks down too much! It's the end of the world as we know it!!!

Still laughing

Anyway, if anyone bothered to read Sparano's presser yesterday they would have a better idea of what is going on here.

(On if John Beck and Josh McCown are going to continue to be bystanders during practice) – "What I have seen is, I've seen between spring and now, about over 500 throws. I've seen an awful lot of them. I'm starting to get a pretty good picture one way or the other. I need to see, certainly more Chad Pennington, need to see him. We need to get him more familiar with what it is that we're doing out here and let the players become a little bit more friendly with him that way. At the same time, with (Chad) Henne, he's a young quarterback that I think needs as many reps as he can get as well. The question was asked before about the third and fourth quarterback. The third and fourth quarterbacks in my mind, they do have to be, if they're veteran players, they do have to be guys that somewhere down the road don't require a lot of reps to be able to get ready to play. I think that they've gotten a bunch of work right now so we just thought at this point, second preseason game, I felt like we need to see these two players."

Beck and McCown have thrown more passes this offseason than Henne and Penny, keep in mind that Beck was working with this staff from pretty much the beginning, Henne was a little late signing and Penny is new to the team...........all of a sudden Sparano's explanation.........makes sense! They seem to be rotating the QB's in games pretty much the same way they did in practices, nothing to worry about.

I love you Mom, you are the greatest woman that I've ever known.

Stupidity quotes of Dave's does bring back the memories.

I've given up the cause, no reason to expect Parcells to be reasonable about Beck. Once Pennington was released it was all over and it was probably over before then anyway. He likely made up his mind last year and it likely didn't matter how Beck performed in camp.

BP has made mistakes throughout his career regarding QBs from Simms on down the line. Pennington provides two extra wins this year but we will have to live with the knowledge that a player who could possibly have performed better in the long run will be wasted. :pity: In the end hope Henne over Beck and Brohm was the correct choice or it could be another long five years.
