I watched it. It sounds cooler than what it actually is. Lohan's mom didnt know the guy was a porn director. Plus this was filmed during the 'Living Lohan' reality show on E! so chances are there was very little reality behind it...
they may have been prescription drugs but were they all "his" prescription drugs and did she maybe tell him they were a different type of drug then he actually took. if the feds are getting involved then it may have been just this or there were other drugs involved that wee not disclosed to the public.
the fact that the feds are getting involved is what irks me. isn't there more pressing things that we need our law enforcement working on?

To me, Olson is just being smart and cautious it is her Constitutional Right not to open a door into her life to some random federal agency, why should she? Silence makes no mistakes.

If I remember correctly from my criminal justice classes, a death involving illegal drugs can be a federal case in some instances...although there was a REALLY hot chick sitting next to me so I may be mistaken EDIT: I went ahead and looked it up. The only federal offense I could find involving drugs was that of a "common carrier" offense. Basically the transportation of drugs by means of plane, train, or automobile.
also may have more to do with who the doctor is that prescribed said medicines..i know alot of people especially those with celebrity status get certain types of medicines prescribed to them regardless of the actual need for them. one could say that the doctors name would be on file but not nessicarily if it was a backdoor type of thing. being the feds are involved they are probly interested more in a doctor neglantly prescribing medicines that had a major factor in his death and no telling how many more patients are getting prescribed medicines neglantly. i know atleast around my area that the feds are cracking down on the "fly by night" doctors and the patients going to several different doctors to get many scripts of the same medicines such as the oxy's,xannax,soma's(mostly stuff you could sell on the street).
Trafficking Narcotics could be as simple as a single pill HKXXX depending on the statute, and of course there is always conspiracy to traffic or delivery or what have you. Why should Olson expose herself to all of that drama?
Oh Im not arguing she should get involved. Infact, If I were her (and had something to hide) I'd probably avoid the bad publicity as well. That girl has had enough problems in her life.
