So why would Stark be building his shield? I never really got into the Avengers that much but I know whos who and the basics.

Very, very, VERY smart decision, as it puts his Americanism in context -- making it less off-putting to global audiences.

Bad news everyone Jon Favreau will not be returning for Iron Man 2 at this time. Horrible decision on Marvel's part.

Hang on a sec ... this may be premature. Apparently, there's a discussion here that indicates he'll be back; he just doesn't want to rush things the way Marvel may want him to,

Dicaprio is way too small for that role IMO. Itd be another Topher Grace as Venom fiasco.

DiCaprio better hit the gym and get some HGH to pull that one off. Acting wise he's a great choice, but not sure how he'd look in a costume.

This Monday, Jon Favreau posted MySpace that Marvel hadn’t contacted him in five weeks and that a April 2010 due date for the sequel would be difficult.

On Tuesday, news broke that David Maisel believed “Iron Man 2 will be a success regardless of Favreau’s involvement and feels the studio does not need to pay Jon a higher fee for his services.”

Now we’re getting word that an offer has been made…

    From DHD:
learned this morning that Marvel Studios boss David Maisel very recently put out an offer to Jon Favreau to direct the sequel and that the offer is “definitely” richer than what the helmer received for the original. Even so, the negotiation has only just begun. So all that Internet blather about how Marvel doesn’t want to bring back Favreau because the studio is lowballing him is just b.s. As an insider told me, “They’re not paying him the same wage. They’re definitely paying him a higher fee to direct this one. What, do people think Marvel is stupid? Of course, the movie was successful, so they’re offering him more.”

    Um…sort of?

Marvel is trying to do some online damage control, but they aren’t going about it very wisely.

Anyone who thinks that Marvel was just waiting around to make an offer is slightly ignorant to the fact that e-mails poured into Marvel telling them that the fans want Favreau and online talkbacks called out Maisel for being money-hungry. Marvel has an internet connection too, you know.

Nah, he can hit the gym Ed Norton style and they can pull it off. Might have to use some tricky camera angles but I'd rather see a good actor in the role than just some young buff guy who cant act for ****.

Latino Review scored a sit-down with Hulk producer Gale Anne Hurd (Armegeddon) and she shot down what little hope we had to see a costumed Cap (even a frozen Cap) in the Hulk or in any of the DVD extras…

LatinoReview: What was Louis talking about when he said Captain America was in the film?

Hurd: He didn’t really mean the character of Captain America, unless there’s something that I don’t know. It’s the serum.

LatinoReview: I felt that there was a presence around the film of Captain America, and not that you actually see him.

    Hurd: Exactly.

LatinoReview: Is Captain America in the frozen tundra? Cause on the trailer we see Banner walking on the tundra and I wanted to know if Captain America was in that scene or not?

Hurd: Captain America was not visible in that scene.

LatinoReview: There was a lot of talk because you do see the Captain America shield in ‘Iron Man’

Hurd: Right. Well we do have the serum. If you look at the movie again you’ll see that the serum is Captain America.

The serum? That makes us feel like we’ve all fallen for a marketing gimmick cooked up by Louis in an attempt to rile the fanboys up. And we don’t like feeling like we’ve fallen for marketing gimmicks.

I've heard a lot of people diss DiCaprio as Capt America. I like him as an actor and while he is short I think he could pull it off. Though someone made a great suggestion that I think would be perfect. Nathon Fillion. As you can see from my avatar, I'm a huge fan. He has the talent and size to pull it off.

Jensen Ackles would be perfect. He's not a big star though. No way DiCaprio is Capt. He'd never accept the part.

Rumors of Brad Pitt playing Thor I hope are unfounded... Too short, too small, ain't workin'.

Leo as Cap may be interesting but Cap has to be a big guy too.

I think what we've learned from this last wave of comic book movies (Hulk, Iron Man, TDK) is that you need to get good actors. Triple H will make the movie a joke imo.

Just get Zakk Wylde to play Thor. He can also do the soundtrack to the movie. Two birds with one stone.
