Minnesota traded Lazar Haywood to OKC for 2 2nd round picks and Robert Vaden who will be cut. Hopefully they are getting ready to make a move to get Kevin Martin.
If the NBA is really gung-ho about this competitive balance thing, then Howard and CP3 should go to the Cavs.
They'll drag it out just like Melo, Lebron, Bosh, Wade, STAT, and everyone else who was in this situation. Plus the league is going to try and sell the Hornets with CP3 on the team to maximize value which is why theyre playing hardball in the first place.
Sweey baby Tebow, this is redonkulous. Nene signing with the Nuggets all but guarantees Howard to the Nets, imo. My guess is the Lakers end up with Chris Paul for Pau Gasol and spare parts (along with a third team). Lakers go into the season with CP3, Kobe and Bynum as their top three players. I don't think it gets it done and it is going to severely damage their front line, especially with Derrick Caracter now out, but it is what it is. David Stern ****ed up Kupchak's gameplan and he is forced to scramble now. I wouldn't mind trying to pry Millsap with the trade exception and a draft pick if Utah will entertain it for depth reasons, but I am not sure what the Lakers do at this point. Josh McRoberts is a solid backup for them. I am finally pleased with them and their use of the MLE. I usually roll my eyes ove rhow they spend that thing.
Isn't Kris Humphries a FA? He is a pretty solid PF. I'm not sure the Nets have enough to get Howard the Bulls sure do.
CP3 is not going anywhere soon. John Ireland the local LA sportcaster who covers the Lakers said the Hornets have a couple of Buyers for the team and the league doesnt want to move CP3 for that reason. They want the new owner to come in and make the decision about CP3. That why they are making these ridiculous rejection for trades. He said there is 2-3 buyers for the hornets and deal can be done to purchase them as soon as January.
They used the MMLE. Had they used the MLE on McRoberts, it would have been the worst signing of the offseason. Smart use of the MMLE. I like him as a rotation player.

ESPNSteinLine ESPN sources: Clippers and NBA-owned Hornets have agreed to Chris Paul deal in principle. Gordon, Kaman, Aminu and Minnesota pick to Hornets

How do you figure? Minnesota will finish 2nd in their division behind OKC and probably be battling for that 8th seed in the playoffs. How will that be a high pick?
The other trade was Eric Bledsoe with the option of either the Minny pick or Eric Gordon. Very good trade for the Hornets. They get a 20 ppg SG, a decent center, a decent prospect in Aminu, and an unprotected 1st from Minny which is sure to be in the top 5 yet again.
Exactly, they acquired instant help in Gordon and Kamen, then rolled the dice on picking Top 5 overall at least Due respect to BuckeyeK, but such trades do not deal in certainties, they deal in probabilities, it is more probable the TWolves finish were they have been the last couple of season then improving, from a value perspective for a guy on a 1yr deal, that is the sort of trade off you have to make. BSPN's radio coverage is now: -but the lakers trade was better! (bull****) -Stern's image took a hit! (he is not running for public office) They really are hillarious.
Please name the 8 playoff teams. Hell tell me how you think the division is going to go? Since you seem to know so much.
You won 17 games last year. You have made no additions to your team that's going to get you +25 wins or whatever to get into the playoffs. Derrick Williams isn't that type of player. And neither is Rubio who I don't expect to do much of anything his first year in the NBA. The Wolves will finish last in their division once again.
I can't believe I've seen the word big 3 thrown around with Tyson ****ing Chandler. Unbelievable those Knicks fans.
Actually do think the Laker trade was better. Three starters and potentially a higher first round pick. I mean Minnesota could finish with a better record than New York right? Chris Kaman... coming off an injury... may or may not start... Gordon, okay, good player. Al-Farouq Aminu? I don't see three starters here... I see one, tops two.... Certainly can be argued either way... it's CERTAINLY not CLEARLY BETTER! Good job Stern.
Vs Gordon and Kaman and a lottery pick? CP3 coming off of injury as well, 2 Starters, 2 role guys, and a lottery pick vs an old guy and a used hot dog wrapper and an auto'd Mitch Kupchack jersey? Not even close, Kaman is a FA as well, just in time to clear cap space. Demps and Morey are guppies in the fish tank, they should realize it and resign quickly...morons.
They sold every season ticket they had..at a 125% savings over Lakers season tix. This is Stirling though, it won't last, that dude is such an idiot, no way they can keep a good roll going. Hs success thermostat is set on 62 degrees, once he reaches that level, the AC kicks on and he reverts to the norm
I think it's certainly clearly better. Eric Gordon is a better piece than Martin. Much better if you ask me. Kaman and Odom are of equal value as is Aminu and Dragic. What puts it over the top is the Minny pick. That's going to be a high pick.
I honestly think the Clippers are the better team in LA at this point. CP3 > Fisher by a massive margin Foye < Kobe by a wide margin Butler > Ron Artest, (not calling him by his ridiculous name. Butler's never healthy though.) Blake > Pau (Better scorer, better passer, better rebounder. Pau has the ever important length advantage though. It's close.) Jordan < Bynum (But just like Butler, it becomes irrelevant if he's not playing, which he usually isn't) on the bench: Billups, Bledsoe, Mo Williams > Steve Blake and whatever else they're trotting out there at guard. Not even close really. Ryan Gomes < Barnes and the rest (win this by default because they have more bodies) Who Cares = Who Cares (Both teams are equally as horrific when it comes to big men depth.) Neither coach really inspires me.
I do think it is a bit funny that now BSPN is saying the Clippers are better then the lakeshow. You have a veteran team in systems they have run for yrs vs a young and athletic team that does not know how to win, the on paper stuff does not mean very much imo.
