So the first real image of MAG has surfaced, and surprisingly is much farther along than one would have guessed. 256 Player Online battles with 8 Man Squads, with many different vehicles to boot. This is one I really hope lives up to it's potential, and thankfully it is being made by the guys who made SOCOM. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/07/22/first-look-at-mag/
According to ps3fanboy.com (so take it for what its worth) MAG could be out in Spring '09. Here's the link: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/07/17/mag-could-be-available-as-early-as-spring-2009/
If this game actually comes out and does whats promised, I'm definitely getting it at launch. The best thing it has going for it is that its made by the people that does SOCOM so I have high hopes.
A game with 256 players online and a plethora of vehicles you would be safe to assume the maps will be huge. Usually the problem with games that have huge maps is that the fighting is too spread out. Since there is 256 players in each game, that kind of solves that issue.
It's game time, *****es. Resistance 2, Kill Zone 2, MAG. Takeover time. Do it Sony. (Put that in your Final Fantasy pipe and smoke it)
I never played resistence, but KZ2 is going to be sick. Mag? Believe it when I see it... I wouldn't bank it. 2010 is my guess.
I think Sony will want to keep smoking that FF pipe as there are rumors that next month Square Enix is going to announce a FFVII remake and the original will debut on PSN. Plus there is also a rumor that Sony will actually PAY for exclusive FFXIII downloadable content. Add that to the fact that Sony still has FFXIII as an exclusive in Japan (probably the biggest FF market), FF Versus XIII as an exclusive, and the fact that the PS3 will have FFXIII on one Blu-Ray versus multiple DVDs and you can see why Sony still has reason to smoke the FF pipe. I won't because its Sony we are dealing with here. If Sony says a game will be out in a year make it three just to be safe.
I do not understand the fanboy attitude. Enjoy each system for what it has to offer. To totally blow off other consoles for one these days is absurd for the simple fact that all 3 systems have pros and cons.
