Oh yeah is a feature of a few videos highlighting some issues with Madden 12 DEMO. *SMH*
Yeah, but we get an all-new presentation system, we get a new soundtrack, you can trade future draft picks and Chris Collinsworth now gives a ****!
Considering that the development cycle is continuous and the only real changes from year to year are rosters, I don't think expecting it to be glitch-free is unreasonable. Madden is one of the few games I've seen that always sells, regardless of how janky the game play can be.
Perfect no, but those aren't glitches, they are fundamental flaws. Add to that the fact that nothing has been updated over the years except as VO mentioned rosters, presentation, and some useless features, and yes, we do expect change every year. Why not? You think we went from Doom II to Crysis by recycling engines, etc? When has EA made an effort to REALLY improve Madden?
Ah, how many times we've heard that before. We shall see. Day 1 buy for me anyway. Never said the game sucks or that I'd boycott it.
Touche. The point I was trying to make however is that the Madden franchise has remained stagnant bro. They never went out of their way to truly revolutionize gameplay. Graphics get better with technology, more polys, soon it will, or should incorporate tessellation if PS3 and XBox can handle it, but the gameplay, the core of the game, is the same. Pre calculated results before the play is finished, missing blocks at high difficulty levels, superman LBs, speed bursts/warping as witnessed in the second video, are all flaws that have been shipped with every release since 09. That could have, and should have been addressed in my opinion. Instead, they gave us 3d grass and life like camera angles between plays. Thanks. Oh, I forgot multiple collisions now, and if someone is engaged in a tackle you can still influence the play as opposed to merely bouncing off the player like 11. Either way, that is something that should have been incorporated many years ago anyway, somewhat expected, so I won't thank them for that.
