alen and i were just talking about this. i agree. not buying it might have to get one of those new-fangled gaming systems at some point
Just gonna update my own rosters manually and then create the rooks. Those graphics look like absolute garbage.
yea us ps2 users will be pushed into getting a ps3 or playing old ps2 games forever lol.....i wanna ps3 so bad its not even funny.....i want the bluray i want these amazing new games.......once i get the money i swear to god....maybe i should look into a used one? dunno anyone whos getting rid of one however...
Which is basically what EA does every year to create a new Madden. Still rocking Madden 2007 for the PS2 myself.
A price drop is rumored at E3 in about a month so it may finally drop to an affordable $299 price...but a price drop is supposed to happen. Also for all the hangups I've discussed about getting a PS3 on here, I love the system and wouldn't hesitate to buy one when I got the money if I were you (I still feel its the best overall system).
You could probably get a used one, just not sure where. I think Mor and these other guys could probably lead you in the right direction.
True. Nice! I would play Madden 04 - best one created IMO - but I rarely play games anyways. I start franchises and then quit them after a couple weeks lol.
What year are you using now 08? I'd like to try an online game sometime...I think 07 is still online but I've not played it in a while since I've been play NCAA 09 for the PS3 (a next-gen football game I actually like but All-Pro Football 2008 wasn't bad).
Ever since Madden came out the old gen has gotten the superior game. It's about time next gen becomes the focal point, IMO.
Would it be a pain in the rear for them to make two games that look good? Honestly, watching that video of the PS2 Madden 10, it reminded me playing Blitz on my computer back in the early 2000's. It looked like garbage.
Joystiq did a pretty in-depth hands on http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/18/joystiq-impressions-madden-nfl-10-xbox-360/
Check Craig's List...that was where I got mine. I got a 40GB, with two controllers, for $300. The guy wanted $450, but, he kept listing it...just watch Craigs for people who have posted multiple times for selling a ps3, and then low ball them.
Sony offers the sony card through chase, and on your first $299 purchase you get $100 cash back. It also used to give 12 months of 0% interest. I got it, and bought a used PS3 for $340ish (1+ year ago) and got the $100 credited back to me relatively quickly too. You can find a link for the sony card on slickdeals.net probably (if the promotion is going right now, and if it isn't it runs regularly).
So basically the game is as useless as it ever was... I'm so ****ing sick of hearing about animations every year... That's the big subject every year. I want an overhaul on gameplay. I want schemes, protections, coverages, etc... Hopefully Goodell pulls his head out of his *** and let's the NFL license expire in 2011. Ever since EA acquired the license they've done nothing to improve the game. As a matter of fact, they've walked it backwards since the Ps3 and 360 came out. ETA: Look at the original video. Man to Man is going to get the **** treatment again. Holmes dominates a CB on a simple drag route... Wonderful.
Really... That's interesting, because none of those things have occurred during any of the next gen Madden's and yet animations are always front and center.
OF course really. It doesn't matter if they can fix the schemes if the animations of the players allow them to zoom and cut in ways that are impossible. I am not defending madden. Just think that it first starts with how the players move. Plus they did make a lot of changes to the schemes, that might work out due to the changes in their animations.
$309 for a refurb ps3 at gogamer.com http://www.gogamer.com/Playstation-...VproductId69210129VVcatId444710VVviewprod.htm
animations are the problem. they cant have a scripted animation for every situation. animations take the control away from the user until the animation is finished. they need to focus on making a player that moves and reacts based on physics instead of having 22 robots that randomly select a new animation when they get close to another player.
http://www.operationsports.com/videoview.php?id=392 Video of some Dolphins vs Raiders. Not a fan of the WC play selection, but I really like the fact that the OL actual is more than interference blocking.
Yeah, the WC playbook looks kinda ****ty... the game play looks REALLY ****ing sharp though. WR/CB interaction looked great, and watching WR run out to make a ****ing block was sweet (On the Ricky run). Blocking in the open field has always been terrible so I'm excited it finally looks to be fixed. I'm def. excited for this game, but more so after watching that vid.
it's a win win for EA. They do literally nothing but update the rosters. There's no engine updates and tweaks like the current gen versions. And sell it to the 100 million PS2 owners out there (that still out sells the PS3 sometimes), so why not?
