This could be that I have never noticed Madden's depth this much before but why doesn't 09 have all of the players. I was trying to slot the Fins receivers and noticed there wasn't a Davone Bess, Josh Dunlap, etc. Do they usually do that update after the season starts because this is the earliest that I have ever played a Madden game. I usually get it after Christmas to the next summer after it was released.
Because they probably aren't projected to make the roster. Dunlap got cut this morning and they can only have 53 players on the team.
I created Bess and dropped kircus. Camarillo got dropped in favor of Chris Henry. I signed Penny, and traded McCown for the Chiefs 4th and 5th. i then traded the 4th and 5th to washington for their 3rd and 5th. It was as close as I could get to regaining the 2nd round pick that should be ours.
That is what I figured, I just thought that after the final roster is announced that an update will be made and I guess I'm right.
Many of the low draft picks dont get put on the roster because there isnt enough room. Check the Free Agency pool before you create any players because they're often stashed there.
This is pathetic. I'm going to have to put the FG kicking sliders up to the max. Why the HELL did they mess with the arrows?
Could be, i did only buy the game like 18 hours ago. but for example.. How do I strafe when on defense? i try pressing l1 or l2 and all they do is run. also, players walk sometimes.... or when the opposing quaterback throws out wide, i feel he's getting rid of the ball and magically, a depressingly open reciever is there to make the completion. I dunno. I play it because it quenches my football thirst but the game gets 3.5/5 stars from me..for now.

Still a Dolphin in mine and same with Zach. Also added CJ, Griese, Roy Williams, Ashton Youboty, and Lito Sheppard. Essentially I have no draft picks anymore but hey, 12-4 ain't bad.
Oh, my God. Either I am the worst Madden player in the world, or the Madden Moment where we beat the Ravens is intentionally the hardest, most frustrating scenario on the freaking planet. Someone tell me I don't suck, because I don't think I'm cut out to play a Madden game.

Five franchise games; two total team sacks and I blitz my *** off. (unrealistic as hell for a 4-1 team with a top 5 defense) -- meanwhile, I throw the football far less than the CPU and they get a ton of sacks. Also, "nice job" tweaking rushing the football. **** you, EA Sports.
That's pretty much what I had to do, except my drive wasn't quite as... smooth, let's say. Aggravating as hell. Also, nice to see it's not just the PS3 version that stutters like mad. EA Tiburon is the laziest game development studio I've ever seen. (And why the hell do you play through the Madden Moments with the '08 roster as opposed to the rosters of the teams at that particular time? Whatever.)
And while on that note, thank God for the 2k's basketball gaming. I wouldn't be caught dead blowing $60 on a worthless NBA Live piece of crap made by EA Sports.
I'm with you on that, though in a different manner; thinking of just playing NCAA Football. I can actually succeed at that game.
ANOTHER RANT....... How many teams in the league run with ONE kick returner now? Why can't we opt to leave one guy back there in the center to ensure that only that player will get the ball (unless of course......short kick)? It's annoying as hell that I've got to run from side to side to get the ball into Ted Ginn's hands, while leaving no time to set up potential blocks.
King, that happens to me also. I think the other team is intentionally kicking away from Ginn. But what makes no sense is why the alternate returner wouldn't be 10 or so yards up the field from Ginn. They really did rush this out the door.
That video is cool and pitiful at the same time. You would think since it was a Madden moment that EA could have at least had the actual players that were on the field when it happened. Seeing McCown and Brown there means that you aren't playing though that drive but rather just playing a mini-game with a fancy name on it. Like lip stick on a pig really.
I officially give the eff up. It is impossible to run, to cover receivers, and to rush the passer. I have no idea why and how they let this game ship in this condition, and they sure as hell will not release a patch to fix what they intentionally broke. (Well, they will, but it'll be called Madden '10.)
On the kick return play call menu go the one on the bottom right. That makes it so the main returner is back deep and will return the ball no matter where the opponent kicks it.
Returning is pretty easy actually. I always average above 35. PAssing is easy in this game just pick slant routes. Rushing is hard but its easier to run inside than outside with Brown. Also use line adjustments when you run. I formation Iso is pretty easy I gain average of 6 YPC on the Iso play I broke a 66 yard run vs the PAts.
The more I play Madden 09 the less I have to say about explaining what is right/wrong about this game. It is simple; Madden 09....sucks and sucks hard.
I'm so ****ing furious right now.... I **** up and fumble (leading 7-3 with 40ish sec left) and Urlacher scores a TD (7-10). I bomb a pass to Ginn and get Pass INT with 0 seconds left. It's important to note I was 0/2 in FG at this point. Feeley's dumbass shanked two. I had them down the middle and they veered right at the last second... WTF!!!! Ball on the 21, need a fg to send to OT.... He shanked it again! It hit the post after being right down the middle. In my next game (lost 21-24) I missed two more FG the same way. WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON???? I'm 6-10 when I should be 8-8. This is bull****! Oh, and I've missed an XP the same way in one game. **** you Madden 09. In my next game I won 23-21 (3 td, 1 safety). Some kid (5-0) crying because I take a knee to kill the clock (had the ball all the 4th qt). "It's so queer. Don't be gay." pfft.
btw why under career stats they have names like Dan Marino missing under most TD thrown in a season, They have a lot of missing names for records...its to the point where its not even worth having the statics since so many names are missing
ive also noticed this... a big majority of the record holder names are missing. it is pretty pointless. im guessing these guys didnt sign a contract to have their namesake in the game... like also in the HOF section, Marino is also missing from the phins.
