Sacks are pretty easy to get for me, especially with the blitz off the corner.

I hear you... in the past 3 games I have only 1 sack... also, the other team's qbs complete 80% + of their passes.

 

I can't seem to get anything going, and I run a ton of blitz packages (mostly 3-4). I'm three games into my franchise with 4 INT's and only 2 sacks.

 

Eh I don't like the 3-4 in Madden. Try the 4-3 with some blitz packages maybe.

 

Man, I don't understand this at all. I usually wind up turning the sliders to the max in everything in Madden. I completely suck in this game despite a good record. It makes no sense at all. Not only can I not get a single sack (even acquired Kamerion Wimbley who has 0 sacks in 6 games -- TONS of blitz packages called for him), but I cannot run the ball with Ronnie Brown. My pass offense slider is all madden (only one bar isn't full), and my rush offense slider is all pro. I am still capable of throwing for 300 yards with 77 rated Chad Henne, yet I cannot run the ball with Ronnie Brown who is rated a 92. Miami's offensive line isn't half bad, either. Makes zero sense. It's a shame. This is the best overall game play in years, and I'm about to put it on the shelf.

EDIT: I just ran the ball for a combined 2.6 YPC average in a game (0 rushing TD's), and this garbage put my skill level in rush offense up by two bars. What the hell?

 

I Formation Iso play. Running to the outside is pretty hard.

 

I've heard about how Madden trades are ridiculous, but I just experienced it firsthand; I got frustrated with EA's outdated roster and started cleaning things up. I moved Donald Thomas to RG, I nabbed Boomer Grigsby and Chad Pennington from free agency, etc etc. Well, like Sparano, I encountered a situation with four QBs, one of whom I didn't need.

Long story short: Josh McCown for Roddy White. I should have tried for Larry Fitzgerald; I'm sure the game would have done that!

 

I traded JT for a first and a second.

 

on my 2nd season i made the playoffs w/ a 9-7 record, Won first round against colts. 14-7, then i shut out the patriots (Brady was out for the year) and then beat the chargers but lost the super bowl to the cowboys... i got bored so i moved miami to Vegas and became the Las Vegas Bandits. Also i got taylor back off Free Agents. Team looks good this year, especially my D.

 

CJ for McCown and Wilford? I'll take that any day, which I did.

 

Madden truly does overvalue him.

I wonder if I could trade Mauia for, I don't know, Maurice Jones-Drew...

Which reminds me; is there a way to reset the rosters back to EA's defaults, just in case I get bored screwing around?

 

Yes just delete your rosters file and it will start at the default (before the online update).

 

My only question is, what menu option do I select to delete rosters?

 

My madden -> Load - Delete

 

Played it, I like it. The main beef I had was the game play was slow and not very fluid. It seems to be much better. I scored alot on the run tutorial, hence running was a major pain. In turn the Computer eased up on me and it got a little easier. I like that feature. My main beef is that the Dolphins are so bad,,,,,

 

How the heck did you get White for McCown? Was it a straight up trade?

 

Run the 43 and blitz with an outside linebacker. What I do often is shift the defensive line outward and the blitz with an OLB from the side.

 

That doesn't work on All-Madden. Unless you have a speed Blitz guy but they get rid of the ball as soon as you enter the QB's Grill. The only Sacks I have gotten have been on PA.

 

Works for me in All Madden. Not every time, but 2-3 times a game. The running game has worked for me too, in my first All Madden game I averaged like 4.7 YPC between Ricky and Ronnie.

Only thing that pisses me off is this new system that the receivers button glows when he is open. Every time I throw it to that 'open' guy it ends up being a touchdown for the OTHER team.

 

Yea, but you are on ps2, and that is way different IMO.

 

I'm on Wii but it's probably closer to PS2 than the other versions. Still though.

Sadly I am already sick of all the menu music... I turned off the menu volume the other day.

I've had my PS3 since December 2006. Never went out on me.

 

I've had my 360 for over a year and it has yet to go out on me (knock on wood)...

 

25 months, on my 3rd 360.

Madden 09 questions.

How do yoou change your jerseys?

How do you challenge a play? I dont see it when you are in a game and press start.

 

You change jerseys when you go to select your teams (whether you want to be home or away) simply press Square on the PS3. RBT I believe you have the 360 so just watch the screen and it should scroll across what button you need to push.

To challenge plays simply pause the game and select challenge play.

Hope this helps.

BTW I'm 1-2 in my franchise and my offense blows.
