LSU forgot there was a second half to the game. Tua can lean on the run game and Burrow needs to make a big pass play to get LSU into scoring range. Can Burrow handle the pressure and turn things around?

Well, if you're in the elite of college QBs, it should be, right?

Nice drive by LSU, when they needed it most. They'll need at least one more scoring drive to win this one I think, at least for a FG.

Well Alabama cant punt anymore... and they cant settle for fieldgoals either. Two score game, their defense cant stop LSU, its 4 down territory for the rest of the 4th

Bad call by the LSU coach to go for two. You can make it a two score game with a FG drive instead of just eight, which is HUGE in a game like this. Don't chase points until you have to.

If i were alabama, have the receivers go to the end zone and setup a screen to najee.. give him a running start and have him run over LSU

Anyone doubting if Tua is the one should just take a look at that last touchdown pass alone.

That's some of the stupidest defensive play calling I've ever seen. The game was won. Super Bowl Atlanta Falcons stupid.

Joe Burrows long run on his final drive is very likely the Heisman moment.

Both QBs got a LOT of help from their running games. Tua was injured, so you have to take that into account. First game I've seen Burrow play and it appears he is worth considering at pick #1 in 2020.

Honestly I dont think Tua plays next week against Mississippi State.. they probably gave him a vaccine at halftime so that he doesnt feel the pain so much and keep going, but tomorrow, his ankle will swell up with all the hits he took at his leg today

Of course you don't base a decision on one game only. But this was a championship moment, against the closest competition and you can certainly evaluate that.

Had to run before second half started. STOOOPID flipping dog decided to go chasing a bear thru he woods behind my house. Don't know what he thought he would do if he caught him.

Tua pulled out a good second half but Burrows was clearly the better QB today. Gotta give Tua the big brass ones trophy. I am impressed with him. Don't think he's bad. Don't think he's the best available now or has the highest ceiling going forward. Burrows on the other hand looks like a baller.
    Just my thoughts.

Something that I hope doesn't get lost in the Tua vs. Burrow madness is how incredibly well both running backs played. The 2020 class is already crowded with talent at the position, but Harris and CEH certainly showed up--I imagine a lot of scouts are moving them up their boards tonight.

Najee Harris showcased his nasty side-step all night. He uses it not only to make defenders miss, but to size down and fit through tighter windows. This is something a lot of bigger backs can't do, and he seems to have mastered it. His burst leaves something to be desired, but I think he can be a true No. 1 RB with his size, elusiveness, and contributions in the receiving game. Reminds me of David Johnson.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire has all the makings of an outstanding outlet back and mismatch weapon, but what really makes him stand out is his violent, downhill running nature. I haven't seen that combination since Brian Westbrook.

IMO, both of these guys are on their way to being 2nd-3rd round choices in April, and I would be pretty happy if we landed one (both?) of them.

On the QB competition: Tua and Burrow are going to have outstanding NFL careers, but I'm starting to have a gut feeling that Burrow might be something really special. We can talk about his poise, competitiveness, accuracy, whatever, all day long--but at the end of the day, he's just a winner. I see some Super Bowl's in his future.

So...the big question is, did any QB sway your opinion of them after this game? Happy with Tua? Happy with Burrow? Happy with either? Happy with Neither?

Tua moved down some more IMO. I voted for Hurts in the poll thread and I'm still there. Right now I've got

    Hurts
    Burrow
    Herbert
    Tua
    Eason

And I think we should draft two of the above.

Would you draft him first overall? Or are you hoping to use the Steeler/Texan pick?

I would. But they shouldn't need to. For one I don't think we will have the first pick. If we have 1-3 and Chase Young is there you pick him. I'd pick Burrow over Hurts at that point if Young was gone, or if theres a T rated that high. Take Hurts with the higher of the other two firsts.

I would seriously be OK with them picking the best QB they can with any two of the three 1st rounders this year.

Happy with either. If it weren't for Burrow only really showing up this year he'd be the favourite 100%. Tua has shown his talent for longer. But, those injuries bring in a concern for Tua.

If either one is there, I think you take them over any other QB. At least, I'd be most confident in those two. Tua's the more talented passer, and more elusive, but Burrow has a bigger body, and more aggression, he's more prototypical.

There are more visible issues with all the other QB's, but of course, that's often the case and then QB's overcome them, but I see no way to figure that out, so I'd have to go with what I see, and those two are top.
