I thought I would share this article as a view from the outside. I do not pay much attention to college ball. I'm just the average fan that will catch a game if it's convenient. But this article in the local paper caught my eye because it referenced a top recruiting class at Clemson. As it turns out, the article is all about South Florida. Enjoy! http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2010/sep/30/home-field-advantage/
Hard not to lose when you're trying to run a clean program in today's college football. Imagine how good Miami would be with Patrick Paterson and Bryce Brown.
I've driven cross country several times and one thing I noticed was that you don't see kids playing pick-up football nearly as often outside of Florida as within. Part of it is paucity of flat spaces in most of the country, but much of it is the culture.
All you have to do is offer to more kids despite the number of schollies if you are short you can always revoke from one of your lesser players or move some players to a Community college and stash them for later use. It works for the SEC.
