I'm not one to start a thread everytime a veteran player is available but does Lorenzo Neal have anything left. Did he block well in Baltimore last year? I've been reading that Polite has not been that impressive with blocking so maybe this is the type of guy we need for fullback or at least bring him in to compete. What does everyone think?

If Neal still has any gas left in the tank... I'd jump at signing him. However, I don't know how much he could possibly have left. He is 38. That's a lot of years banging heads with linebackers 30-40 times a game.

Nah, I think Polite will improve his blocking during the course of the pre-season. He didn't do too badly against the Jags, I thought. He showed some pop and executed assignments alright. Just didn't sustain blocks longer I think. I think he, Grove and Smiley need to work on leverage more. Anyway Polite is automatic on 4th and 1 so I hope he sticks.

As much as I don't like signing players that old I would grab him and at least see if he still has the legs for it. That man had paved the way for a lot of 1000 yard backs.

Well, he's 38, and there is alot of mileage on the tires, but we do have an extra roster spot...and Polite isn't shinning as of yet...and Sparano believes in competition..

Don't forget all those drives Polite kept alive last year on 4th down. The guy has a nose for the first down markers.
