He said it was an 11x11 room, I figured his head would be at one end, and the tv at the other end of the room (it'd be even longer if diagonal), which is why I suggested 40"-44".
Hi guys, thanks for all the help. I think I got a pretty good deal <crossing my fingers> as i got this one from Amazon.com for $ 853.75 and free shipping. I also purchased an extra HDMI cable and an S-Cable from them. DirecTV is supposed to have their own HDMI and I got one that I think is better quality. Its the Sharp Aquos LC32D64U 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-Aquos-LC32D64U-32-Inch-1080p/dp/B001338KTQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216133692&sr=8-6 This should be a pretty good hookup even without a new speakers right ? I am not into gaming but just watch a lot of sports. I upgraded to MLB Super Fan HD and NFL Super Fan HD. I already have MLB Extra Innings and NFL Sunday Ticket. I am dropping ESPN Gameplan, as I realized I really didn't use it that much. It seems they usually had on games like Utah Valley Mormon Sisters of the Poor vs Catholic Girls with Big **** State (well I guess for you straight guys that would have been a good one to watch, especially if they were in lingerae ). I have the ABC East and West feeds so I generally get a 2 games that I don't get on my local Miami ABC. Sound like I am good to go or anything else I should be concerned with or need ? Thanks in advance.
What is up with prices on 65" LCD HDTV's?? No sales anymore? I want to pick one up before the NFL season..and nobody is putting them on sale.
Damn man, I was going to suggest this tv: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.htm...4&AFID=Performics_**Slick Deals**&LNM=Primary It goes on sale sunday for $849, but I see you already got one off amazon (though you can return it still if you don't like it, lol).
i woulda probably told you to snag a 42" panasonic plasma for about ~900-1000 if i had 2800-3200 to drop i would get a pioneer kuro 50" plasma /drool
Save your money on "upgraded" HDMI cable. HDMI is sending pure digital signal, 1s and 0s. The signal either gets there to be converted at the TV/receiver or it does not. While there is some debate about the effects of higher quality (usually dealing with shielding, which is not an issue for HDMI) on cables transfering analog info, it is not an issue for HDMI. A caveat is that the cable is of a minimum quality which actually does transmit the digital info. Some of this discussion changes if you have a longer runof cable. See this interview re: HDMI cabling: http://www1.electronichouse.com/info/specials/hdmi_basics.html
Guys I am pleased as punch with the one I got. Sometimes you know things get built up, and then most of the time, its a big let down. Well the TV and HD signal I am getting is blowing me away. I LOVE IT. I have never seen baseball like this before.....its just amazing. I can't wait to see some football. We all are jonesin' for that aren't we ? Aug 9th can't get here fast enough !
