Thank you for wasting 45 seconds of my life with your failed attempt to prove to everyone/anyone/someone that your **** is larger than someone else's.

When i see a player who pisses me off when it comes to ego and he's highly touted, i study his *** a little harder to find his weaknesses, well, i found them, and they impact football games bigtime, you disagree, apparently most of the other experts agree with you....we'll see.

I just hope the GM's who pick before us agree with you to.

You know what, i just thought of something, it sounds to me like your defending the pundits position on claussen, what are your own projections with the player?, you obviously feel that a star recruit can go 3 and 18 against ranked teams in his college career at a big time program and not take any of the blame...

Bad game management... bad leadership..Poor decision making= 3 and 18 against ranked teams.

I'll say this, i find myself on the same page with a lot of your work {i too wanted and predicted we'd select Ginn], but if you endorse Claussen, were worlds apart.

I believe what he's trying to question was your statement that Clausen has already fallen in the eyes of the scouts.

I don't hate the guy like you do, but I'm a lot more uneasy about him than many others. Yet, there's no doubt in my mind that scouts in general are very high on him and he could go high in this draft.

One thing about me is that I don't give a hoot about the pundit's position. I go by what my eyes have been telling me in more than 2 decades of evalution. We can piss into the wind over this one but the tale of the tape will be on the field.

My point, which seems to have been lost in all this is that I don't believe scouts think that his stock is crashing.

The thing with Ginn is he is in the wrong system. The system we run requires a tough physical possession receiver. When we had Chad we worked the short intermediate routes Ginn is still a 1 trick pony imo and a pure deep threat.

I'm glad we didn't take Quinn. It was a bad move to pass on Willis though.

I think some can vouch that my analysis of claussen has always been clear, thats why i wrote the letters "IMO" before i wrote that his stock had crashed, not sure why those line are being crossed .I know where everybody else has him, thats why i have conviction about this player, and the topic that he's the #1 rated qb, high first round draft pick that most think he is. That get's me hyped because i want everyone to fall in love with the player, so imo, a player that does not deserve to be that high, will go high, therefore pushing a better player 1 slot down to us.

He's a Hi profile player, A player that will continue to rise after the combine, 1st round grade by most, not on my board...

Is my projection of the player not objective because i dont have an affinity for the player?, we'll see.

Then I think the problem was a poor choice of words. When you say a guy has already fallen, even if you add that it's just your opinion, it means that in your opinion scouts have already seen through Jimmy Clausen and they've got him rated poorly. You seem to be acknowledging that they've got the guy rated much higher than you...which means you probably should have worded things much differently than to say he's already fallen down the draft boards.

your misinterpreting my words..i understand why.

i was suggesting that you are taking the pundits side, because of how premature i am projecting the player to bust. so I thought you were just making a case for him that he should'nt be judged so soon..

now if your saying that those eyes of yours are telling you that claussen is worthy of the hype he's getting, and been getting, then I completely disagree with you, which is pretty unusual to me like I said.

You see, I already know what my eyes have told me about the player, so now I want all the hype to come his way, because that hype, hopefully,.
will get him drafted before its our turn.

I cant wait to see how good he looks at the combine..perfect platform for the skills he does have.

This is the post i was responding to when i wrote.."IMO, the player's stock has already crashed".

Personally, not only do i agree with Alen's comments about what he read that may be transpiring, but ive been writing about that, and other weaknesses, for 3 years.

Especially when it involves different 3-4 philosophies, the steelers run LeBeau's 3-4 with lots of zone blitzes and dogs by the ILB, Pasqualoni rarely does that, as in Torbor's sack on Sunday was a rare call.

There is a gulf between choosing the right selection, and what that selection does in the NFL, one can say what groceries will be purchased, but not whether or not they will taste very good when prepared.

Seriously, you're going to go out of your way to nip at Boomer's sack for that? Over him liking a draft prospect over an alternate ones you favored?

If anything, the fact that he was pretty much the only person I can remember even alluding to the idea Ginn might be the pick at #9 earned him a tremendous amount of respect in my eyes.

There are loads and loads of more shameless, self-aggrandizing "internet stars" both on here and Finheaven than Boomer.

I don't think the idea that there are wide receiver "systems" works really well. A team might have a specific archtype for what it wants in a #1 receiver, and have some tendencies based around it, but there's no system that is not going to be able to use a sufficient talent of a specific style.

The problem with Ginn isn't that he's being misused, it's that he simply isn't as good as they want him to be.

Curious as to opinions of WR Shay Hodge of Ole Miss. I've seen him drop some easy ones, but I see a pro body and athleticism in him. What I'm wondering is if he has deep speed and if he can fill the talent gap that we have, the usual suspects for this WR group- speed, explosion, separation ability.

    http://www.nfldraftbible.com/cfi/Draft_Watch_Shay_Hodge.html

One thing about the 2011 WR crop- there sure is some talent there, but in all likelihood the top guys, the studs, will be gone by the time that we pick. Which makes me wonder if it makes sense to wait until then to get our #1. Plenty of talent to choose from in this year's talent crop- Jerry Hughes, Dan Williams, Spikes and McClain. I'm still very curious as to a couple of things- if A. Benn is available when we pick will we take him, and which WRs might fall to our slot in the 2nd.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority on this one, but I think that Wake will improve his run D and I still kind of like Moses and Anderson. Point being that I'd rather shore up WR and NT if possible, we have depth at OLB. Still like ILB Sean Lee, too. Aggressive run stuffer but he can cover well and he's instinctive, and I can't say the same for Crowder/Ayodele/Torbor. NT Dan Williams just fits. And imo if there is one crying need it's #1 WR. And based upon talent and our projected slot as always I return to Arrelious Benn.

    In a perfect world:

    1. Benn
    2. Williams
    3. Sean Lee

And the confusing part is who do you take in the 1st and hope falls to the 2nd- I don't know. It could just as easily be Williams/Benn. I still think that this is a good year to trade up into the second if a really good player at a need position falls. Henne needs a weapon so he can develop further, Ferguson needs an heir at a critical position, and ILB needs an upgrade. I'd be thrilled if we got those three players.

ps Claussen at #6- is it just me or does he look a little stiff, mechanical, and like he locks on to his primary target way too often? I think of Jimmy Claussen and I think bust. As always, I could be off on this one. I just don't see it with this guy. No way top 10 imo, I wouldn't go top 20 on him. Maybe the Vikings around 30, I don't know.

I say we give up our 1st round pick this year for our biggest need for next season...Wide Receiver. This isn't a very strong offensive draft class anyways.

You can't operate like that. What if Julio Jones gets injured and Jonathan Baldwin gets arrested and AJ Green gets shot and Michael Floyd ends up in an asylum and DeVier Posey decides he wants a career in antiques? You just can't do it.

I'd love to trade out of our #1 pick this year, the 49ers have been mopping up picks when they do so.

And let's face it, a rookie just has a slim chance of starting for the Dolphins anytime soon, for those who say "psshaw" think about this, two years in a row we have seriously competed for a playoff spot using that method, the rookie sits, the veteran plays, and maybe later in the season they insert the rook occasionally into the lineup.

In that sense they learn the Sparano Way before they see the field so a #1 or a #3 pick, it doesn't matter as the player who sees the field is the one who assimilates the System the quickest.

I don't know where you are getting that from. We had what, three rookies starting in 08 week one with another heavy in the rotation? That is well above average to the point I doubt anyone had more. This year we had only two, but I don't get where your going there..

    MCcoy just declared..

We've got to get one of the blue chip athletes and players in this draft.

    Spiller
    Bryant
    Suh
    MCcoy
    McClain
    Gresham
    Morgan
    Berry
    Okung...

Hopefully a couple QB's will go before us improving our chances on one of these blue chippers.

Were gonna miss out if we dont move up to get one.
