Isnt Hernandez a tad vertically challenged to go 1st round? He won't run a 4.5 like 6'2 Dustin Keller, will he?

True but I wouldn't put too much stock on his forty. He has game speed.

    Well away from here
I wasn't overly impressed with what I did see of Ed Dickson last night. I did not see the whole game, but I have it recorded.

There's talk that Christian Ponder may be reconsidering his options. He's filed paper work to the Advisory board. This after a month or so ago, I posted that he is very likely to stay. However, the retirement of Bobby Bowden may change that. We shall see.

Not very surprised. He's been a troublemaker at Kansas.

Watching Mike Lupati on tape again. He's one helluva Guard but two things that stand out. He tends to hop and flip his hips when he's getting ready to pull. I don't usually see that and I think he should consider dropping that. It makes me wonder how loose his hips are. Also, he's got great strength and he takes advantage of it. I've noticed, at times, he lets the defender into his chest because he doesn't get his hands quick enough or he doesn't have correct hand placement. He's still a damn good Guard though.

Haven't really followed the situation at KU, but was he one of the ones that Mangino made the off-kiltered comments about and/or was he part of that KU football team vs. basketball team brawl?

I did see your points on him being up and down in terms of consistency and I think he bares that "buyer beware" tag in the draft.

He was questioned by the police and actually spoke to them right after the two-sport brawl happened, from what I understand. He was suspended one game and had an issue last spring I believe which caused him to be suspended for entire spring practice. He also was arrested for theft before starting his freshman year of football.

Agreed on the buyer beware tag. He needs to work harder.

Alabama's Kareem Jackson will enter the Draft. Colorado's Jimmy Smith will too as well as UNC"s Kendric Burney. Speaking of UNC, expect Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter, Deunta Williams, Quan Sturdivant to enter the Draft but there's no word yet on Charles Brown. Iowa's Adrian Clayborn is undecided while Brian Bulaga will enter. SDSU's Vincent Brown is going through the paper work process to see what his grade is from the advisory committee. Last, Nevada's Kevin Basped will be entering the draft whilst Dontay Moch is considering bolting.

Btw, huge issue going on with the aforementioned Advisory Committee. They are lacking film of underclassmen and they are lacking the time needed to properly evaluate all prospects, so players who are on the fence about declaring for the NFL Draft might not get a grade and will be forced to make a decision to go or not. What comes to mind to me is that a lot of underclassmen will get told a misleading grade by their agents and the underclassmen will end up going into the Draft, only to be disappointed. Also, it's said that the Advisory Committee has more evaluation requests right now than they had ALL of last year, which is a problem because there's still roughly a month and a half before the deadline.

I don't think Ponder changes his mind and I certainly don't think Bowden's decision is any sort of issue. If he didn't see that coming then I'd be surprised.

Lewis is some kind of special running back!!

This Freshman RB class is insane! If Ingram and a few other guys stay for their Senior year and the top Freshman come out as Juniors, the 2011 Draft will be the year of the RB.

The only way he 'does a Tate' is if when he got to the endzone, he just looked around as if to say 'And?. If he didn't, then it's not pure Tate.

Like Ray Rice, MJD, Ahmad Bradshaw, Sanders, Payton? LOL

Lewis should be at least 205 in another 2 years, and he has a huge bubble and thick base ala Sanders.

I don't mean this in a rude way, but chemo has really made Hertzlich's teeth white. Those things were sparkling!! Clemson's probably gonna lose after that comment.

Yea, the guys you listed overcame it, but there are plenty of players who never did. No one is writing Lewis off, just saying that he has something significant against his pro potential at the moment.

Couldn't disagree with you there.... but the kid's got some SERIOUS potential IMO. Closest thing to Sanders that I've seen (just like the announcer kept gushing). It might be wise for Lewis to get a restraining order after hearing that game!!

IMO it all depends on what he does with his gift. Does he take it for granted or does he max it out like elites of the past have done?

Spiller is tearing it up and outrunning people even with a bumb wheel. He's been doing it all year and deserves the Trophy as much as anyone for his efforts.

I think the committee also needs to consider the type of person, player, teammate, and role model he is when making their decision for final candidates. CJ is the kind of guy young kids and especially young black kids (completely not a racial comment) need to see a highlight reel about. It's not every year a college retires a player's jersey number, especially considering how much talent that has come out of it.

when he's good he's awesome. someone is going to be really happy with him

wow he just turned the corner again for a TD. I'll tell you, the more I watch him the more I'm convinced that the worst he could do is be the next Reggie Bush but the best is Chris Johnson. Probably not as fast though lol (who is?) not a bad ceiling and floor imo. i think he would be sick in the wildcat and wildpat or whatever the spread is called

CJ plays with a lot more heart and dedication than Bush. Spiller has football pumping through his blood..... Reggie doesn't.

Spiller is as fast as CJ or very darn close. You've seen him all year with turf toe. You should see him when he's actually fast. LOL. He's a hair faster this year with a good wheel. You know you're fast when you can easily beat a man who has an angle on you or when you can gain 2 yards of seperation within 10 yards. LOL. I fully expect him to run a 4.25ish. He can throw so he'd be awesome in our WC. I wish he had a highlight reel that actually combined all of his plays into one. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOiSDoo9QEo"]YouTube- C.J. TP...i thought of you bud when spiller was walkin off the field tonite, it was a beautiful moment for the warrior, the perfect tear rollin down his cheek as he walked by himself, I know you lost it, if you saw what i saw, lol..

Maybe its been said, but if not, here goes..N Suh is thee greatest Dline prospect ever.

    He's reggie white on steroids.

The perfect spicimen of human evolution at the Defensive tackle position..A player of great EVERYTHING, including the scariest thought ever....A sideline to sideline 300 lb player...

Iam just at a loss for any rational thoughts about this football player....am i missing somebody in the depths of football history that compares to what were seeing?

Interesting dynamics from the college teams playing today as it relates to our passionate discussion about what is the biggest need for our team moving forward..Offense or Defense..What kind of identity do we wanna be?.

We saw a power rungame destroy the #1 defense in the country..

We saw a great defense in alabama shut down the tebow led spread..

We saw another great defense in the "black shirts" shut down a real spread offense in texas...

Thanks Deej. Yeah.... I'm a little bummed right now, especially with how hard CJ played to give us a shot to win. Man he wanted it BAD. Hurts to see him like that at the end of the game. Oh well. sigh.......

Could you imagine our Dline if we switched to a 4-3 with Derrick Morgan-Suh-Starks-Wake (and Merling subbing in for Wake on run downs)!!!

Add in McClain, Derrick Johnson at OLB, and stud OLB Bruce Carter from UNC. Holy crap!!! We have enough trade bait and future picks to make something like that happen, even if it were for just Suh and Morgan. Our draft success rate on picks is high enough that I feel it's time to give some away in return for major impact players. Quantity for quality IMO. Gonna do it in a heart beat when Madden 2011 is released!!! I'll let ya know how it works out.

If we could grab an impact WR and TE in FA, we could totally stock up on D like that. Next year seems like some serious playmaking Safeties that we could wait for while we see what Clemons has for us.

(if we can land Derrick Johnson & WR in FA)... then realistically I'd prefer to see us switch to a 4-3 and make our Dline our strength, drafting: 1. Derrick Morgan. 2. DT-Brian Price, Marvin Austin, or Dan Williams since one of those should fall to us. 3. OLB Daryl Washington. 4. Dennis Pitta. 6. LaGarette Blount. I would trade up our 2nd rounder plus Cam, Langford, and maybe a 4th next year for Suh though. LOL.

I've been of the mind for a while now that Spiller should get the Heisman. I haven't changed my mind about that. What he does to me is more incredible than what Toby Gerhart does, or even Colt McCoy. Or Mark Ingram.

Completely agree..... bc he's doing it with a freshman QB, a mediocre Oline, a 1st year NCAA head coach, 1st year NCAA offensive coordinator, a bum toe, and with teams focusing 1st on trying to stop him. Plus absolutely no one kicking or punting to him.

Can't say the same for Gerhart, Colt, Ingram, Tebow, or Gerhart. Suh should be the only competition like Boomer said so to speak.

Probably, but he doesn't have the biggest impact on his team, and that to me is what the Heisman is about. Otherwise it's just about who should be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft.

How about McClain? If Ingram is there, then so should be Rolando. If multiple QB's can be invited, then why not the QB of the best defense in the country rather than the offensive QB (Tebow) who lost to him?

The trophy list needs to be ammended so that at least one defensive player is invited every year.... even if it means adding one more person to the ballot.

actually the Heisman is about the QB or RB on the best team in the country, apparently. only 4 times has it gone to any other position.

also, the best player in the country will automatically have the biggest impact on his team, because there's no way a team will be the same if you remove the best player in the country.
